Bands at Coconuts
Our drummer booked us a show at Club Coconuts. Has anyone out there played there yet? I am unsure as to what to expect! lol I haven't been in there in a while. I heard they remodeled the place. Just wondering....

My old band, Dysfunktion, played "The Mirage" back in the day. Good Times!!!

I worked at the Palace for 10 yrs. Started there when i turned 21, Ronny D was there before me, was a cool gig while in a band. Scarfone and I would work every other day. Thats when dancers actually put on a show and could...dance. We would play there on Wednesdays. I never even been to the new place since, I guess Diane is still running it?

hehe. I remember Ronny took me there when i was 17, he just started singing with our band Laughing Sam, and his wife Lisa was on the stage, and he was like..."so what do you think of that?"
what else was a 17 year old to do, i fell in love with her right there.
Man i miss those good ole' days!

When I heard Coconuts started booking bands, I talked to the owner about it and here is what I was told...
For band nights, they have some of the girls dancing on the floor, but they're clothed. Granted, they're scantily clad - but from what he told me, they are not topless and it's a "couple friendly" environment.
However, the back room is open at coconuts as well - and in that room, the girls are topless and exactly what you'd expect in the main room on a normal night.
So, from what I can tell, you're guaranteed a crowd - and hot, barely clothed girls dancing on the dance floor while you play... And you still get paid for playing there, so it sounds like a win-win situation to me.
