NFL player only get 30 days for vehicular manslaughter ???

Post by gibson980 »

Donte Stallworth NFL wide receiver only gets 30 days in jail for killing a man while under the influence..... You know if we did that we'd get 3-7 years for sure. Funny what money buys. The Judge said he believed Stallworth was truly sorry, and he was impressed how caring he was about the situation... hmmm

I wonder if I decide to go on a vehicular rampage, that I could use Donté Stallworth verdict as a precedent. I can spare 30 days of my life.

While I do think he still got off somewhat easy, at least Florida has realistic laws concerning anything involving DUI and stuff. The guy he hit came out of nowhere where there wasnt a crosswalk or anything so he was alot at fault. In alot of states another driver can just about run over you and if you have been drinking it would still be totally your fault.

Don't forget about Leonard Little of the Rams. He did the same thing that DS did and is still playing football. Money can get you anything.

This shit pisses me off like nothing else. All these big name people buying there way out of messes. Most of us would spend the rest of our lives behind bars, no questions asked. Thats why I never drink and drive. I'd rather be dead myself than go out and do something like this to an innocent person. These damn people walk in the court room acting all sad and upset hoping someone will feel bad for them and cut them a break. thats all that shit is. and for some unknown reason it works for some of them. Those with $$$$$$$$$$$$$

Hmmm...I'm not sure if you also have to be a rich celebrity to be able to use that as a precedent. :?

Any Rockpage lawyers want to shed light on how starie decisis pertains to not being rich and/or famous?

I wouldn't say its horrible. He was racing someone and hit a mother that had a kid that was around 3 or 4 years old.. Sooo now that kid will never have its mother so my cousin deserves it. But it is funny how an NFL player can get off so easy.

Punishment in this country is only for the poor and the weak.

Lady justice isn't blind to a fat wallet. Typical woman.
