Lights out for Bret Michaels at Tony Awards
There's vid of this all over you tube.
NEW YORK – Bret Michaels ran into some scenery at the Tony Awards.
Michaels, star of the reality show "Rock of Love," took to the stage with his hair-metal band Poison during the telecast's opening production number, featuring performances from the season's Broadway musicals.
They performed "Nothin' But a Good Time" with the cast of "Rock of Ages," and as Michaels exited the stage, a descending set piece smacked him on the head and knocked him — splat! — to the ground.
Tonys spokeswoman Christina Stejskal says the rocker "missed his mark." Though it looked it, he did not break his nose. Stejskal did not immediately know the extent of his injury.
"Rock of Ages" celebrates 1980s hair music and features songs by Journey and other bands. It stars Constantine Maroulis as an aspiring rock star.

I doubt playing to a tape was up to the band. I personally don't see anything wrong with backing tracks. If a singer is having vocal problems, why should he/she risk their voice for the sake of "being real"?? This is just my opinion, and I know there are a ton of people that disagree with me.
Pour me another one, cause I'll never find the silver lining in this cloud.

heres the video: http://www.popcrunch.com/bret-michaels- ... 009-video/
The whole band was playing to a tape. in the video, you can clearly see the cc deville wasnt playing his part
If they arent good enough to play live, they shouldnt be a band. that goes for every band on the planet. alot of bands play to tapes on shows. its just not right.

I see what you are saying but there's no way someone like CBS is gonna have an actual "live" performance on a live broadcast of that magnitude, because of the incredible amount of shit that could go wrong and train wreck their show with millions of people watching.FourthDimensionAudio wrote:heres the video: http://www.popcrunch.com/bret-michaels- ... 009-video/

Necessary evil or whatever.
Did you notice the mic problems and stuff they were having throughout the show and a couple times when it seemed like the mics that were supposed to be muted were still on picking up parts of conversations? Pretty funny.

When you get into a band that pretty much can do whatever the FUCK they want, let us know. Dick.FourthDimensionAudio wrote:heres the video: http://www.popcrunch.com/bret-michaels- ... 009-video/

Putting people on a pedestal, doesn't do anything but make you feel inferior. If you think you're inferior to some dude simply because he plays in a popular band, that sucks, especially if that band is poison

What was this thread about again? oh yeah hahahahjgjghhaggahlkjlkhjkhgjdshgjkgdhahahahaha!

Why didn't that Big John security dude prevent this from happening? Doesn't that dude like do everything, save wiping Michael's ass? How do you get a gig like that, anyways? Do you put "Professional Douchebag" on your resume?

May I ask why so many of you hate Poison? I mean not all of their music was great but they did put out some good stuff....
All bands put out some junk if they actually write their own music... I just don't get it.

I think I'm the only one who really said anything bad about poison, and I just don't like any of that hair band stuff. My mom likes it, I legally have to dislike it.metal_junky wrote:May I ask why so many of you hate Poison? I mean not all of their music was great but they did put out some good stuff....

No, I have seen other posts along the way about them... and also heard things at shows... I just never figured out what was so bad about them.....
And of course... You just HAVE to do the opposite of what mom does
