Dec. 2012 ...

Post by felix'apprentice »

Anyone else heard about this? Supposedly they think the world is going to end in 2012. I saw it on the history channel today. Its kinda heavy to think about, but who knows what will happen. So what do ya all think? Just another Y2K thing to get us to buy huge amounts of water and toilet paper to boost the economy? lol...maybe i should start building a bomb shelter

so...THOUGHTS???

I'm trying not to think about it.

But yeah I guess there's quite a few calenders that end on that date and on that year.
Rush even named an album after it:
Rush - 2012

It's a very interesting subject and I've seen a few segment on the History channel about it, but sadly I retain information about as good as a goldfish
(I watch it so much that it's nearly impossible to retain all that info)

I'm hoping that someone here goes all WIKI on us and sets this straight.

Geddy Lee has a voice that only dogs can hear, so we'd have to communicate with the dogs to find out, and by that time it will be December 11, 2012 atleast. I dont think we'll have that kind of mediating technology in such a short period of time.

All's we can do is keep sinning and repenting.

I believe Rush's album is titled, "2112". It's a very interesting concept album. As far as the world coming to an end in 2012, I really don't believe that any mortal man truly knows the future. I wouldn't worry about it. People should plan for the future because it is a practical thing to do but at the same time, take life one day at a time.

End oh World

Post by BloodyFingers »

2011 is the real date of the end. I read everything I could find on this years ago. Tonight I will put up a post on this and what I read about it. It had to do with 3 Indian trides. The Inca's, the Myains, and the Aztec's.

I'll take a copy. I have "2112" by Rush on Vinyl, Cassette, and CD, but if I could find that long-missing "2012" album, my collection would be complete.

Sorry, bro, had to bust yer stones on that one.

During my lifetime, the world was supposed to end about 20 to 30 times. Always from reliable sources who claimed to understand scriptures or some ancient mysticism.

I'll see you in 2013. :D

You guys are too serious!
2012 was the album right before 2112, and it is very rare. Anyone else want a copy let me know.

edit:
I also have the previously unreleased debut album by Rush titled 'Fly by Day'

He was only joking...its Rush 2112, not 2012.

Apparently, in 2012, the sun lines up with Earth and the center of the galaxy. This is something that only happens every 27,000 years or so. What I don't see is how this is supposed to be relevant to the wnter solstice, unless the date is just a coincidence. I can't imagine that there will be any shift in gravity that will bring disaster.

I think its just a bunch of hoopla to boost ratings on 2nd tier cable networks. 1st it was Reality TV and now its Reality Animation. Is that an oxymoron?

A culture that didn't even possess the wheel stopped their calendar at 2012? Fascinating. Did you every wonder why DMX stopped at 512 channels? Did you ever wonder why DMX needs 512 channels?

My bet is on the "Rise Of The Machines" theory. Makes for a better movie.
