Its 100% situational. Sometimes I dont like to have one sip of beer. Sometimes I like to have a few so I loosen up. When I play with felix, I tend to just chug'm down, cause everyone else is too.

Completely depends on who I'm with, whos there, where were at, what the material is.

So.... for a short answer....

sometimes?

i rarely drink during a show. i can't concentrate if i'm buzzed, and then my playing is sub-par. i don't get stoned either... haha... if i was baked at a show, you'd know... i'd play nothing but "i shot the sheriff" all night

Just get good and buzzed, make sure to record the gig, sober up and then listen to the recording. Pretty sure you'll never play buzzed again!

Buzzed?

What do you mean?

Sometimes there's a buzzing in my ears the next day.... is that what you mean?

Hmmmmm... I'll have to do some more field research on this "Buzzed" you speak of...

I've never done a show buzzed, and I never will. I got trashed here at my house one night and tried playing some songs, it was disaster.
Pour me another one, cause I'll never find the silver lining in this cloud.

For some reason if I'm playing and drinking I can get a good buzz and keep playing. If I'm hangin out drinking and its a band I know and they have me up for a song I'm all over the place. I haven't partaken in the herbs for quite sometime so no to that one.

I cant play drunk to save my life, but if I take my vitamins and herbal supplements then I'm on my game.

For me, getting fucked up and playing guitar go hand in hand. In fact, I come up with some of my best riffs that way.
However, the next day I dont remember them.
They are catalogued with the rest of the "lost riffs" in the land of the dead.

Nope. Maybe a beer while setting up, then if we have time, a pre-show shot.

Sometimes, nowadays, I'll have a beer during set breaks, maybe.

One time in another band during our break the drummer came up to me and said "Not too bad for trippin my balls off huh?" I honestly didn't even know.

haha. But........absolutely.

I drink iced tea at gigs. I'm a beerdrinker, but I can't think of a worse drink to screw up your vocal cords. Once in awhile, I might drink one beer per set, but only if we aren't doing AC/DC.

Now parties...that's a different story.

After 20+ years of beer drinking during the gig (Playing buzzed), I decided to quit cold turkey. Since then I have developed super human powers that I could only dream of before. Like, knowing what key the song is in before we start it, Knowing the arrangement of said tune, and knowing right where I laid my rack covers during setup. As well as being able to magically determine at the end of the night exactly where my car was sitting when I pulled into the venue! All kidding aside the last seven weeks have been awesome for me from a playing standpoint and I hate it that it took me this long to figure it out! Playing sober is kewl! :D

I don't like to drink when I play. It makes you sweat a lot more, makes you tired as hell, and you can't think straight. It can be a lot of fun, but there are too many negatives for me.
