The Banditos

Post by cucuplex96 »

The Banditos is a band that has had many members over the years. A plethora of local talent. Guys like, Wally Archer, Big Jim Ricotta, Darrell Ruzzi, Kevin ToonaRockGuy, to Bill Nusome, Denny Yon, Dave Russell, and myself.

After a Break, a reformation, various position shifts, member assortments, name changes, and the 3 year long search for a frontman.
The Banditos are back with a set list that is nostalgic and modern. New and old, just the right amount of the something for everyone category.
Bill Nusome and myself share the vocal responsibilities, trading back and forth for the switch up. You'll hear anything from classics like Thin Lizzy's "Cowboy song", to Theory of a Deadman's "Hate my life".
From "Ugly kid Joe" to Billy Idol. From "Grand Funk Railroad" to "Breaking Benjamin". From "Tom Petty" to "3 doors down". From a band like "ZZTop" to a band like "Sublime".. It's all right here!!....
From the "rare and obscure" to the popular top 40...

The Banditos are back and you can catch us at these two locations in the following two weeks...

Rubines Bar - On the corner of 8th st. and Second Ave. Altoona
On Friday March the 13th starting at 8:30...

and at...

30 Something - Located in Greenwood, on Friday March 20th, starting at 10:00

I hope to see some rockpagers, and fellow band members out at these shows.. it sure would be nice to catch up with some old friends..

Check with the band's rockpage band link in the next month or so for updates, show listings, and the link for the bands myspace page.

“Banditos kept things rocking, fun and festive. Bassist Bill, drummer Dave, singer/guitarist Wally Archer, guitarists Darrell Ruzzi and Phil Wagner were tight and together on their song selection, and played it all with spirit and enthusiasm. Wally’s and Bill’s voices were on the mark, and their two- and three-part vocal harmonies connected as well. The tunes were delivered with smiles-a-plenty, as the busy Hitching Post cheered their approval. It was a party!” ~ Jim Price

Good question James, the answer is 2.The very first Banditos get together when you,Wally,Kevin,Darrell and myself jammed in my basement there was this skinny, kinda quiet(those who know him would find that hard to believe) 18 year old punk kid who watched from the steps intently with an" I can play that"look on his face.Truth was,he can,and still does.Phil can pretty much like yourself jump in on almost any tune in many genre and make it look easy as I know you do.I still enjoy doing acoustic from time to time with the guy someone on here once dubbed "the guy who knows so many songs, including some not even written yet".It's always an honor as well as a pleasure to play with any of the former or current members through the last several years, because once a Bandito, always a,well, you know. And that James is the rest of the story.Peace and have your people call my people.

 It's good to receive all the support, after all the support, I gave to so many of you, over the years  ...... Can't wait to jam friday for the Rubine's St. Patty's day bash. I think that all the Rockpager's that "can" make it, should come out to at least one of these shows.. you might just enjoy yourselves.... 8) 8) 8)
