Inexpensive vocal preamp upgrades...

I bought an ART Pro Channel that I was kinda into but mostly not. I have read countless forums about swapping tubes and about other inexpensive preamps. If u get an into a bind and dont want to go broke upgrading right away consider a major tube upgrade.

I went from a chinese no name 12ax7 to a Telefunkin 12ax7 (not sure of the plate length) that a local music store owner found for me. WOW! Creamy, thick, warm are just a few adjectives that I would throw out there. Mullards get great reviews as well; and I had thought if I couldnt find a Tele or Mullard I would try a TungSol gold; because they are supposed to be less microphonic that the standard TungSol.
