DEATH ANGEL Bassist Quits
DEATH ANGEL Bassist Quits
Death Angel bassist, Dennis Pepa, has announced his departure from the band.
"I've been with DEATH ANGEL since its inception in the '80s and believe it is time for me to move on. Throughout my career with the band, I've brought a punk-influenced edge to the DEATH ANGEL sound, and as an open-minded musician in need of change, I'd like to diversify and explore other opportunities within and beyond the genre of metal. The DEATH ANGEL guys are my family, both literally and figuratively speaking, and I wish them luck on their future endeavors. Many thanks go out to Nuclear Blast Records and the fans, who have extended their support and friendship — I look forward to being involved in new music projects and continuing to connect with all of you."

What Dennis Papa really meant:
"I'm bored."
"I've been with DEATH ANGEL since its inception in the '80s and believe it is time for me to move on. I finally realized after 20 years that Metal doesn't pay the bills, so I'm going to explore other genres and play different music. Basically I'm selling out so I can make some money"
Atleast that's what I got from it anyway.

Why do you think I play in three bands?Truthfully though it won't be a tough slot to fill........unless they live in Altoona.Apparently no bass players live here.
In all seriousness, there is a dearth of bassists in our part of the Keystone State. Keeping that in mind, the following rules will help any bass player get a gig in Central PA:
1. Own your own gear.
2. Play in time. Or not.
3. Have a pulse.
By following these simple rules, you too can be a Central PA bassist!

4. And blame everyone else in the band if something sucks.grimmbass wrote:Why do you think I play in three bands?Truthfully though it won't be a tough slot to fill........unless they live in Altoona.Apparently no bass players live here.

And here I thought I had to nail Classical Thump to land those sweet gigs 'round these parts.grimmbass wrote: 1. Own your own gear.

"He's the electric horseman, you better back off!" - old sKool making a reference to the culturally relevant 1979 film.
Hopefully the bass players of Rockpage are equally amused.songsmith wrote:Jimi, everything you submit here slays me! Man, that statement says a LOT!--->JMS

Know what's really funny? I'm photocopying a receipt today to send in for a rebate, and realize that Johnny put me in the Music Emporium computer system as:
Jimi Hatt
Band Whore

Well, it does only have 4-strings, so it MUST be easier than a guitar.Jimi Hatt wrote:Hmmm, is there any money in this bass player thing? It looks easy enough.

I'm just a bass chick trying to stay out of treble.
