On behalf of Whitey and Robin Noll of
Pennsylvania Musician Magazine, I want to thank everybody who contributed to make the first-ever Altoona installment of the annual PA Musician Toys for Tots benefit at City Limits this past Saturday a HUGE success!!! Thanks to all four bands - Felix & the Hurricanes, Bad Daze, Shift and Wake Up Screaming - for not just donating their talents, but for each kicking butt and making it count onstage! Thanks to the U.S. Marine Corps "Toys for Tots" representatives for making the trip in from Ebensburg and being present for the whole show. Thanks to Claudio and his staff, Zilly for the great sound, Whitey and Robin for making their first ever visit to Altoona to support the effort, and of course, all the fans who donated money or toys to support the cause - Altoona was there in full force, also Bellwood, Tyrone, Ebensburg, Cresson, Johnstown, Philipsburg and Clearfield Nations were all representing! Great to see lots of off-duty musicians representing as well! Nearly $1,120 was raised for Toys for Tots, not to mention several hundred dollars' worth of toys! You all made a difference! Thanks again, everyone, Saturday night made me proud to be a part of this area's music scene!
The full review of Saturday night's festivities will be posted in "JP's Corner" in a few weeks; for the moment, here are a few quick photos from the show...
Rob from Bad Daze gives Robin from PA Musician a cordial Altoona area welcome...
Saturday night's show is going to make a bunch of area children a whole lot happier on Christmas morning.
Yours truly presenting the check to a Marine representative at the end of the night, which will buy a whole lot more toys for many more needy kids.
Again, THANKS EVERYONE!!!
