The Bottom Line

Post by The_Underground »

I find it interesting that the Jaffa Shrine is hosting WWE on July 27th. This is the same organization that rationalized their attempt to take over of Roar in the Mountains, by stating in the press, local bands offended families and children.

Quotes from Bill Wilkinson in the Altoona Mirror:

“The live music with language offended many, especially families with children.”

“People identified the event with the Shrine and blamed it for the problems.”

”So to gain control, take advantage of the event’s potential, raise money for ongoing improvements at the Shrine and ensure a family atmosphere, the Shriners have taken over.”

We’re all fans of WWE, but come on, if you’ve ever attended a RAW event, you heard more swearing, saw more violence and scantily clad women in 2 hours than you will ever see or hear at Roar in the Mountains event. Add in the fact that the Jaffa Shrine will AGAIN be selling and profiting from beer sales at the event, I see this as a lapse in their so called effort to ensure a family friendly atmosphere for the local community.

Apparently the going price on “so called family values” is negotiable at the Jaffa. It’s all about the bottom line.

Maybe the "family" they're catering to is the Manson family.

Yeah, I hate it when the kettle calls the pot black.

Know what I mean?

Friday Sept 19th Fedup, The Avant Garde, and Dick Shack Posse will be having an Anti- Family Friendly Hardcore Hoe-Down at 30 somethings During the Whine at the Shrine. There will be swearing, drinking, scantily clad women, tattooed bikers, punkers, and Metalheads. Leave the kiddies at home with the babysitter and come out and party with the big boys and girls. We did this 2 years ago and it was a blast. Lotsa boobies, and the bike builder suicide Jack partying with the Fedup crew!!!

Oh yeah, Keep it classy Mr. Wilkinson. You are making yourself look like more of a douche with your every action.

It's only a matter of time til his brothers at the shrine, (who are for the most part embarrassed by this dickbags actions) turn their back completely on this hypocrite.

Chris, We are advertising our Event as part of Roar in The Mountains, so we are not mistakenly associated with Billy Bunghole. If there's anything we can do to help out further let us know.

Back in the 60s, the shrine had booked some long haired hippie group., whose name I can't remember. When they found out what they looked like, the response was "we're not having a bunch of long-haired faggots on our stage. So instead they booked - I'm not making this up - Johnny Mathis.

Some things never change.
