Is anyone into the......

Post by bassist4life2004 »

Paranormal? Recently I have taken a strong liking to the SciFi show Ghost Hunters and I have been infatuated with TAPS and paranormal investigations. Recently I went to Gettysburg to look at the monuments as well as historic turning points like Devils Den, Little Round Top, and the Battlefield of Picketts Charge. I saw a lot of things out there that really took me by surprise. If anyone else here is into the paranormal, share some experiences. :D

I've been into the paranormal for ost of my life actually.
I don't really get into much of the ghost hunting shows because its hard to tell whats real and whats not but I wouldn't mind going out ghost hunting myself.
Too many wierd experiences to share, really...lets just say that I've had a strange life...lol

I was just watching some episodes of Taps online last night. (I work nights so I miss it during the week) There's a show on A & E called Paranormal State that's also pretty good.

T.A.P.S....

Post by Mudbug »

I like T.A.P.S better.... They actually show stuff they caught on Audio or video and let you make the decision for yourself. Plus, Steve is a goof!! P.S. never-ever show anything. At least I've never seen them do it. That's why I quit watching it when it was on... (Plus, they were a bunch of rich kids from PSU. :D )

The new T.A.P.S. stuff starts Wednesday, May 28th...

I love TAPS. I also can't wait til Ghost Hunters International starts back up. Paranormal state isn't entertaining and they dont show anything or ever come to conclusions. I actually want to form my own paranormal group, I think it would be a great experience to have. I caught some pretty abnormal things at gettysburg this week, and I wasn't really even trying. I caught an EVP with my voice recorder on my cell phone, and I got a picture of some kind of black mass standing in the middle of the field where picketts charge took place. Those are the things that make me sit there and scratch my head.

TAPS...

Post by Mudbug »

I've sent them emails about going to Gettysburg. They did that one show from a place "close" to there. But they need to get on the battle field and the surrounding areas. But the kicker to that is. They have to be asked to do it. They just can't/won't if there not "invited" for some reason or another. I bet there is some crazy shit that goes on there that people really don't notice or care to notice...

I was up on little round top with my guitarist Ricky, he was over looking at one of the statues and reading a display. I was walking over to him and i saw a real quick spray of red go past my vision. It almost looked like someone got shot and blood sprayed out from the wound. The kicker was, there were no cars in that area that would cast a red light like that, because that was my first thought, and the first thing i looked for. It was pretty weird seeing that, I didnt even know what to think or say at first. I kinda sat there and thought about it in disbelief. I will upload one of the weird pictures that I have from gettysburg here in a few minutes.

Take from this what you will, but there is no reason why that black shadow/mass should be on the left hand side of the picture. It was really overcast, there were no shadows, no trees in the middle of the field, and if there were shadows, the whole tree line would have caused shadowing too. It just has no business being there.

Weird thing happened Saturday....he saw a flashlight on sale at Sears in a circular...went into the hardware department in Sears, walked up to a sweet older lady that works there, she took one look at us and said, what do you need honey....light? This was not a 'lighting' department either, just where they sell all of the hardware. We both caught it...I think that lady has ESP.
I definitely have an interest in the paranormal...anyone ever go to Baughman cemetary in Tyrone? That place is creepy.

I've had way too many paranormal experiences over my lifetime to list, including seeing/hearing Spirits, or what ever they are. :P
Just one fer instance in the dreams/premonitions department: In retrospect, the  look  when I described a child to someone I'd seen them with in a dream, in a different home, was TOTALLY PRICELESS!  There was no way I could or should've known about this child, whose existance was confirmed 4 or 5 months later, other than oooEEEooo! :D (The photo I saw of this child months later confirmed the exactness of their likeness in my dream.) I shoulda trusted my instincts/intuition/what ever it is, all those months before. It woulda saved my children and I a LOT of grief and $. :) The most frequent odd occurrence, which has happened as far back as I can remember, is Deja Vu.

Regarding "Paranormal State", I understood the premise of the show was to try and find perfectly normal explanations/reasons for seeming paranormal occurrences, although there were supposed to be some which weren't able to be explained or reasoned away. :P Unfortunately, I've never seen "Paranormal State", but having met some of the young people involved in the show, I can guarantee you they aren't simply 'a bunch of rich kids from PSU.' 8)

From shows I'd watched about Gettysburg on various networks in years past, I believe Farnsworth House (which if I recall correctly, is a bed and breakfast one can stay at), is supposedly one of the most haunted places there.

Edit: I too haven't been to Gettysburg since I was a child on a school trip, and also would like to go back and see what I could see, hear...or what ever. :D

Yea Paranormal State more goes in to try and disprove a haunting. But yanno it's nice to see both ends of the coin.

I haven't been to Gettysburg since I was a kid. Would love to go back ghost hunting at some point. I came across this one night while surfing online. Might be something you'd be interested in Bassist... http://www.hauntedgettysburgtours.com/

I remember seeing the TAPS episode when they were Altoona, to bad they didnt catch anything. Next time you in Gettysburg check out the Jenny Wade House. I was there last August and one of the toy horses moved across the floor by itself.

The first episode was done in altoona, it was a womans house. She was actually living in a location that was haunted by children. TAPS verified it and actually caught 2 really damning EVP's. The second epsiode was Mishler Theater, and th PA Railroaders Museum. Go to Youtube and type in Ghost Hunters E01S01 and it will show you the first episode. episode 2 they didnt really catch much. It's still cool that the first 2 episodes were done right in our back yard. Even though they do pick on altoona a little bit. Brian Hornois is the one who set up all 3 investigations.
