I'm not sure if I'm gonna like them, either. But, I ordered a pair... should have them this afternoon. I've been having some problems with my wrists and hands... the rubber rings are supposed to absorb some of the shock. I also like the fact that they are contoured. It is so hard to grip the sticks during the winter months. My hands are so frickin' dry. I was looking for an alternative to dips or wax. It could be my crappy techique, or the fact that I'm a sissy.
We'll see...

I wouldn't say it's poor technique, maybe you are a sissy....I had the same problem man. Dry hands forced me to grip tighter, thus cramping and hurting. I used pro mark stick wrap, best stuff out there. I've been doing the wax thing lately too. Hope the sticks work for ya!Another-Drummer wrote:I'm not sure if I'm gonna like them, either. Billy Ward has a similar problem as you do. His signature "Billy Ward" drum sticks have a ball on the end (or something like that). I'll have to look that up.

They're cheap enough... I'll check them out. I bet it is awkward playing traditional grip with those, however. I am primarily a match stick player, but like to switch on occassion.Hawk wrote:Billy Ward Signature Sticks :

Don't any of you use Cool Rods, Hot Rods, or Brushes? I'm pretty sure you could adapt to the Hornets.

The rods really make you work for your diddles though.Another-Drummer wrote:They're cheap enough... I'll check them out. I bet it is awkward playing traditional grip with those, however. I am primarily a match stick player, but like to switch on occassion.Hawk wrote:Billy Ward Signature Sticks :

drum sticks
everytime I used the zildjian anti-vibe sticks the rubber thing a ma jig always came out of the end so I stopped buying them. Now Randy Wilson of Way Down East has me hooked on Mike Portnoy Pro-Mark Sticks. They are a good stick...not too heavy but not too light..they are perfect.

Drum night...
I'm new to Rockpage and pretty new to the Altoona music scene. I used to live here before I joined the Army 22 years ago. I read about your drum summits and I'm anxious to get into it if it's cool with the rest of you. My name's Randy Servello and I've been playing professionally for a long long time. Every style, in just about every place around the world. Let me know when this next get-together is, please!!

Jack's brother I'm guessing ?
The first time I saw you play was at a Jaffa Shrine Circus. My son (about 10 at the time) NEVER saw any of the circus as he watched you the whole time. As I remember you did an impressive job.
Just your experiences would be interesting. And I know you could contribute quite a lot. Thanks for inquiring.
