I used to run the following chain in my bass rig: Preamp out to dbx in, dbx out into power amp. I used the 1066 basically for speaker limiting/protection.
Now I am using 2 bass heads instead of the preamp/power amp confinguration.
If I patch the dbx in to the effects loops of my bass heads, will I get the same results or the same effect for compressing and limiting? In other words, will it work in the same manner as it did with the preamp/power amp config?
Let me know your thoughts and thanks in advance.

Thanks guys. I thought that was the case, but I wanted to be sure. Now I can go spend more money that I don't have!

I might be confused but I don't agree. When you ran your preamp out into the dbx and then into the power amp, it's in seris and all the signal from the preamp had to pass through the dbx before it got to the power amp so yes, it certainly could be used as a "limiter". But if you run the dbx through the effects loop, you have the original preamp siginal and the dbx signal mixed together and if the original preamp siginal is stronger, it overides the limmiting power of the dbx.
