In-ear Monitors?

Post by J Michaels »

this seems to be an excellent place to get feedback on this sort of thing, so here goes....

I'm interested in getting some in-ear monitors - I used TJ's from Bad Hair Day, and they were great! Problem is, his particular set were something like $2000, and there ain't no way I can afford that! I have found some for about $150 or so (a couple different kinds), which is really about the only thing in my reasonable price range (for now), but I am worried if they're THAT much cheaper, that they won't be worth a damn....

Comments? Thanks in advance, everyone...................... :D

Plugs

I use a set of Carvin in-ears and have been for over a year. Nady makes a good pair as well. Get something with a good earpiece. I find the Ross earplugs are good cause you can compress them, stick them in, and then they swell to block out the sound. Both brands are a couple hundred but they'll save your hearing and you'll be able to sing better than ever before cause you won't be pushing for volume all night. You just have to depend on the soundman to keep your volume up - the way it should be. The biggest disadvantage is it's not as fun to listen to your own music when it's deadened by the earplugs. But you can always just not set them entirely tight in your ear or use one at a time. Still, I can't live without them anymore.
