Attack of the Killer V's

Post by metalchurch »

I know, stupid title.

I got a Flying V body that I'm working on right now. I'm in the process of trying to come up with a cool paint scheme for it.
I was thinking maybe a George Lynch inspired Kamikaze type design, or maybe an Urban Camo paint job.

It is a 24 fret / 25.5 inch scale body.
1 Volume
1 3 way toggle
2 Humbuckers

I'm probably going with a non-trem Kahler and a Floyd Style locking nut on the neck. Not sure yet.

And the best part is that it will be a right handed guitar, so if anyone is interested, or has any ideas, let me know.

Right now, I'm just brain storming ideas about paint and hardware configuration. The Kamikaze paint job will be hard to pull of right, because of the V shape, so I'm not really sure on that yet.
I also thought about a Bullseye like the old Charvels.

How about The Visible Vee, like the Visible Human Body, which is a painting of a guy with no skin. You'd have muscle tissue and tendons and maybe even creepy eyeballs like the regular painting.
You'd have the only one around. :D
Or, as it's a metalhead guitar, give it a decidedly non-metal theme, like cowboys, or tractors. I have a Warlock with Bass fishing stickers on it that I like to play blues and country on, both because it's a weird thing to do, and because it actually has a very full clean sound. ------>JMS

A Warlock with fish on it? That's awesome!

I'm building this right handed, just for the quicker re sell factor, so it's like tits on a boar to me. (You know, fun to play with, but you get strange looks when caught.)

I'm probably going to finish this to sell it. I only play Jackson V's cause I love 'em so much!

I was bored and needed something to work on and I got a great deal on this body, and I couldn't resist. I'm probably not going to build any more Strat shaped guitars any more.

I was just trying to do something a little different with a V that I haven't seen before. I do have to try and be original about it, and stay away from other player's designs. I always liked the Kamikaze paint job though.
Just fishing for ideas (hahaha!)

I have this cool picture of this guy who is just a little obsessed with Maiden, and it reminded me of your idea.

I second the urban camo.
