I was reading the recap JP wrote about the Town Fair and how any band around here would be capable of playing if they were only discovered at the right time and right place. In case anybody hasn't heard, Backstreet Law won the Best Band In PA contest which was held over the summer months at the Cell Block. I think there were 30 some bands that entered.
First prize was a slot at the 2004 Rolling Rock Town Fair along with a bunch of other prizes. That says a lot about what local bands from around here and across the state are able to accomplish. I think they are an awesome band who is definitely on the rise. Their latest release Hollow is an excellent hard rock album. I recommend checking it out and the band when they come around Toona town. Well just wanted to post this info in case no one heard this news. Later!!
Backstreet Law wins best band in PA contest!!!
For any of you who didn't know, BSL once had a record deal and their label went bellyup. Hell yeah, these guys are the best band in PA. They had to turn heads to land that record deal. They were so close yet still miles away. They've been down all roads leading to major success. Their professionalism and stage presence hit on all cylinders.
