Gore vs. Bush
Gore vs. Bush
I was looking at some stuff on Snopes.com (the web site that tells you wheather or not those crazy emails we all see are true or false) and I ran across this one - that just happened to be true.
http://www.snopes.com/politics//bush/house.asp
I thought this was a bit of an eye opener!!!

A liberal is someone who feels a great debt to his fellow man; a debt he proposes to pay off with your money. -G Gordon Liddy
Among the many things that are missing in the "article" is they participate in a project called Green Power Switch through the Tennessee Valley Authority
and the power they use is renewable. Also, they have solar panels and other
things on their house to make it energy efficient.

who fuckin cares they are both rich asswipes that probably got goverment grants to build the houses any way . or in GW's case his daddy paid for it like everything else in his life.eco my ass dam what a reason to blubber wwwaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhh !!!!!!! your house is using fossile fuel. find something you can change or someone you can help and move the fuck on whiner
While I'm sure there is some truth to it, you have to read the fine print and analyze it for spin, like you do anything else. The AP story it references is titled, "Conservation Group Says Gore's Home Overuses Electricity." The story is that a conservation group says the home uses a lot of electricity, not that it actually does.
Now, look at the other two references in the bibliography/credits. Both to the Austin American-Statesman. Sounds like a rather conservative publication, just by name alone, doesn't it? Obviously, I've never read the publication, but it sounds kinda "fair and balanced" to me.
Gore doesn't stand a ghost of a chance in 2008, boys and girls. The Dems are parading him around and speculating on a presidential run to further fragment the GOP. It's a shell game perfected by Rove, and (finally!) picked up on by the equally insidious DNC. Any airtime used on Gore is wasted, but talk radio's kinda dumb that way, and they play right into the trick. That's a few minutes of bile directed at someone other than a Clinton.
I'm gonna go out on a limb here. If the Iraq War still exists in November 2008, the next president will be a Democrat. Get used to that idea. America spoke in the mid-term elections, and the GOP didn't listen. The Rove view, expressed ad nauseum on the radio, is that the conservatives weren't conservative enough. Sure... go with that. Then when the next prez walks down Pennsylvania Avenue in January 2009, go ask Karl what the hell just happened.
On a totally unrelated note, Rosie O'Donnell's leaving The View in a few weeks. Perhaps she'll go back to booking cruise ships for doughnut-bumpers and shut the bloody hell up. It was fun, though... she rattled Sean Spinnity so bad he has to bust her ample balls on every show, whether she mouthed off that day or not. The man is just so transparent. At least Rush is reasonably intelligent. Anyway, Sean's appearance on The View was supposed to be him reaming Rosie's politics at the request of the little squirrelly girl (Elizabeth something) but wound up being Rosie pounding his ass with the political strap-on that is gay extremism. Classic, classic daytime TV.
So to sum up, watch the references to other publications, and the appearance that a website is politically neutral. Drudge was considered politically neutral at first.---------->JMS

Who fornicating* cares? They are both rich pieces of toilet paper who probably received government grants to build their houses, anyway. In George Bush's case, his father paid for it like everything else in life. Ecology my damn posterior - This is a poor reason to cry. Your house is using fossil fuel. I'm an internet afishianado.
I think he was addressing me. Wasn't he? I didn't go to college, so I can't tell for sure.
If he was addressing me, that was funny as hell.
Okay, my friend. If you'd enjoy a rousing political discussion, please by all means bring the noise. If we're acquainted offsite, then you know I'm mature enough not to take your poiltics personally, and any discussion would not affect friendships. Undercoverjoe and I have quite disparate politics and argue like crazy here, yet we get along famously otherwise.
Now show me the error of my moderate independent ways. And eat a good breakfast, 'cause I'm taking your lunch.

Ding-ding-ding! We have a winner. Both are children of political dynasties, of affluence and power. I think the Bush dynasty has run it's course, and his legacy will be one of mismanagement and cronyism. Algore is, in my view, completely unelectable. He's too much of a lightning rod for criticism, and in truth, couldn't weather such criticism. His little documentary got some notice, but he's too extreme, and doesn't allow for global warming to occur naturally, a la volcanic activity and rainforest decay. It smacked of Michael Moore-style sensationalism, and achieved the same result: It got liberal-leaning college kids talking issues, but really amounted to a tempest in a teacup.lonewolf wrote:I'm going to go way out on a limb here and speculate that Al Gore and George Bush both have gargantuan carbon footprints that are significantly larger than yours or mine.
I'd like to see a more populist president... no more rich kids whose daddies were Congressmen. And no more secretive holdovers from the Nixon administration.------->JMS
Not an asshole... 5stringlowb..... Has Jae been drinking? You know how he gets when he drinks, starts talking "smart talk" and using big words and stuff... just like his bachelor party.byndrsn wrote:Oh goody!!! Just what we needed on RockPage: Another angry asshole.

It could be. Last time I talked to J, he said that he got a five string Schecter. It's going to be a five string revolution, with endless low Bs and amp companies making cabinets that don't roll off any higher than 30hz.GUITARII wrote:Not an asshole... 5stringlowb..... I don't usually get involved in these wonderful discussions concerning politics and the such, but there seems to be 3 different threads going on here. That interests my ADD mind.
My pocket change says we do need a change in who runs the show as far as this country is involved.
Capt Grammar is the MAN! Now, all we have to do is fix his spelling. For such a learned man, you're spelling is atrocious(5stringlowb).
Now defending our friend Pete for a second, you're right. Change what we can, fix what we can. Good plan. But honestly, if you come in like a hurricane, expect some feces to be thrown your way.
