Shooting at City Limits

Post by banditos »

Whatever happened to kicking the shit out of someone or getting your own ass kicked without running for your gun?Anyway, nobody was hurt and the asshole has a nice room at the Blair County Hilton.Turns out he's out on bail for a for a weapons charge in N.Y. City.Time to take back our streets and our clubs. We need someone with balls in city council.I think the trash that needs cleaning up in this city doesnt come in piles,it walks, talks and thinks it can shoot anytime it wants.Oh well theres my 2 cents.Any other ideas?

This is getting ridiculous. It is getting to the point that you can't step out your door anymore. There are so many stupid and retarded people in this world. Maybe if people would learn to think before they do what they do. I swear no one thinks about the outcome of anything anymore, so many feel they are above the law and their thoughts and actions are the only ones to be acceptable.

According to the Mirror story, it happened early Saturday morning.

I know it has been discussed on here before, but I would have no problem with local venues starting to use metal detectors and wands. It would be an inconvenience, but sadly, it's the times we live in.

Hearing incidents such as what happened Friday night is only a little scary to me - as were the first few times I heard gunshots after we moved here. I figure if it's my time, it's going to happen no matter what I do or where I am. I used to hear gunshots all the time where I grew up/lived, and in Houtzdale, but never thought much about them. Come to think of it though, a stray bullet could easily stray from the Woods and hit someone. Even driving I-80 during hunting season, I've seen hunters in orange walking through the Woods...a stray bullet's a bullet, no matter what kind of gun it comes from. Don't get me wrong, I like guns, I'm not for gun control - then only the government will have them! :D I haven't been going out as much lately, but it has more to do with the lament "it sucks being poor" ('Eh, pain and fatigue, too, screwy weather! :)) than with any amount of fear, and 'twill ever be thus. 8)

Metal detectors are all well and good for inside the venue, but most of the incidents are happening outside. IMHO, everybody needs to stick together and not let a few REAL whackos ruin everything for the rest of us semi-normal whackos! :D

We have to somehow stop the influx of all these NYC, Jersey, Philly, ineer city assholes from coming into the area. They are all fucking ex-rehab douchebags that see how much opportunity there is selling drugs around here. The problem is it's easier for these people to get assistance such as housing, medical, food, money, hell they even give them a down payment for a car. It's easier for an outsider ,that's a total fucking bum to get help from our local Government than it is for someone who has lived and worked here their whole life and fell on hard times. Our system is fucked my friend. My solution, Carry your own weapon, and learn how to shoot it.

I'm gonna agree with Sanchez here. A woman I used to work with went to public assistance to get help for her elderly mother and was turned away because she made $1 more than their requirements. At the same time, some guy rolls up out front in a brand new Escelade all tripped out and just dripping with gold jewelry. You guessed it, he was pretty much handed every damned service he could get from the state on the spot.
The person below me enjoys a good spanking.

Thankfully, the incident didn't effect the crowd we had there last night. I agree something needs to be done to ensure people's safety in the clubs. A detector or wand may be an inconvenience, but if you can't wait an extra 10 seconds to get a beer, then I feel bad for you.

I wish this town had funding for about a thousand police officers. That'll never happen of course, but can't somebody please train the few that we have to keep an eye out? We're still under that "Oh My God this is happening in my own back yard!!" mentality. Well, the fucking druggies from all over have discovered us and found us to be a pittifully easy mark. Fuck them. I just feel badly for the folks that think they need what these assholes are selling.

I totally agree with Dirty,I have said Altoona was getting to fucked up even before I moved.
I think you can blame the half way houses, well ok the drugs especially heroin.
When they are busting these guys send them back to where they belong.
I know that won't happen but it's a nice thought.
If you think about it less than 10 years ago Altoona and Blair County in general was a untapped market for heroin. Now it runs rampant and of course the ebb and flow of the drug trade Altoona is perfect.
And of course violence was sure to follow.
People are pussies now and instead of knuckling it's too easy to pick up a gun.
(Old tymie quote coming) Back when we were younger we duked it out than had a drink or just went your separate ways.
I'm glad we don't really worry about that kind of shit with the violence at clubs down here. Or I haven't seen anything like that.
They need to take care of that shit and right quick.

Cheers!

Thing that sucks about this is Du Bois is getting pretty bad too. We've had hudreds of new people come flooding in from Philly, Altoona and Pittsburgh. Its just way to easy. All you have to do is drive on I-80...get off at Du Bois and sell. Du Bois is slowly but surely slipping. Christ yesterday i was driving downtown and i saw gang graffiti on our post office...(thats a first for me here). But now State Police in this area have been making busts. As have the Du Bois cops. I hope they discourage any and all drug dealers to stay away. Or this town will suck een worse..

Wow, this simply blows. It's time to start cleaning house in Altoona ... we've had the "half-way house" discussion on this site before. There's got to be a way to send these pieces a $hit back to the $hit holes (NYC, Philly, etc.) they came from and get them the ƒü©k out of our area.

Residential neighborhoods in Altoona are being strangled by ƒü©kheads from the real cities and businesses are also paying the price.

The worst part for the businesses is if people get scared and stay home. That's the worst thing you can do. You're letting the terrorists win.

BTW, everyone's invited to come out to City Limits next Saturday (St. Paddy's Day) and help support Claudio and his staff. We're hosting a big-assed green beer fest with special guests Way Down East, Hateball and the Underground TV.

Only reason I go there is to see HF1 and Danette...

no, he got punched and went and got a gun.

if he would have beat the dudes ass, he wouldnt have needed a gun. getting a gun is stupid. he should have taken his loss and said oh well.

i was talking about fighting against the scum that have infected this area. not grabbing a gun when i get punched. take your streets back. the cops obviously cant. ive seen alot of cops around here. esp in the area i live. they are either skinny young dudes, or fat old men. both of which shouldnt be cops!! back in frederick, the cops were big dudes that would beat your ass in 2 seconds if you got out of line. trust me, i know. the cops ive seen here are jokes. they cant defend anything. my Gf's friend's husband is a cop...he is a little guy...looks almost exactly like the guy that banged stifler's mom in american pie. imagine that guy trying to arrest someone who doesnt wanna be. the cops ive seen here seem to be more of a liability than those who can protect and serve.
It would be VERY easy to set up a mafia type thing here. way too easy.

The bullshit continues! No knock against the DJs (it's not their faults),
but it does seem that these types of incidents have been occuring at these
shows vs. band gigs. This is just an observation. I can say however, that
the past several times I've passed City Limits on a Friday night (DJ night),
the police have been sitting outside apparently waiting for something to occur. The police are aware of the problem! Maybe this is just a coincidence, or maybe it has more to do with the type of crowd/clientele being drawn on these particular nights? Either way, it is becoming a sad state of affairs when you can't go out and enjoy yourself without some stupid ass trying to kill or injure somebody. You can hire all the police you want, but the problem won't be solved until you get rid of the assholes bringing the problems here. If you know someone with a drug/alcohol problem, try to get them some help. Getting rid of this kind of scurge is
definitely going to be an uphill battle. Unfortunately, innocent folks end up on the short stick of these occurences far too often. Be safe and watch your back folks!

Sorry, but I don't agree with this AT ALL. DJs propagate this type of climate with the type of music they play, whether or not they know they're doing it. Of course, clubs will continue to book them because of the $$$ factor, but how much money can you save to make it worth flying bullets?

This is no different than the shooting at the County Line Inn a year or so ago. It was a Friday night (hip hop night), someone got into a pissing match inside, then when it went outside, bullets began to fly. There's still a goddam bullet hole in the front door of the joint, along with another bullet hole (same magic bullet) in the back of a booth near that door.

On Saturday nights at County Line (band night), you don't get this kind of behavior. Plain and simple.

Coincidentally, the County Line fireworks occurred one week prior to our upcoming show there, such is hte case with City Limits and this incident. Hmmm ...

Screw DJs. Screw 'em all.
