BMI is targeting the little, very little bar called Winner's Lounge jut outside of Indiana. Winner's Lounge stopped having live music last year (2006) and they stated that BMI has sent them numerous letters for 2007 stating legal action if they do not pay their 2007 dues. Winner's Lounge might hold 100 people, elbow to elbow.
Here's my official thought of BMI...LEAVE THIS AREA THE HELL ALONE. The music scene is lacking as it is with the PLCB barking up the ass of every bar in this area, now we have BMI targeting bars that most people don't even know about.

We have lost Winner's Lounge as an occasional place to play as a result of this issue. I have spoken to the owners several times and they said their only recourse was to discontinue entertainment and that is how they made a big portion of their income for the establishment. Even though they only had bands two or three Saturdays a month and DJ's on the other dates, it was a very nice, clean place run by very good, professional business people who treated us extremely well and it is a shame that this happened.
