To hell with Prince. Lets hear it for the TRON MARCHING BAND. Visually exilarating!

I enjoyed it. Much better than last year's halftime show.

Prince played 5 songs and only played 2 of his own songs.

I thought it was interesting that he played The Best Of You by The Foo Fighters.

Playing Purple Rain while it was raining could not have worked out better for the show.

Yeah I agree I liked the marching Band with the Rope Lights on there uniforms, as far as Prince or what ever his name or sign is now I really was not impressed, I did like the chicks in there high heeled boots though

I don't really like the style of music that Prince plays but you gotta give credit where credit is due, the guy is very talented! I thought the show was very well done. The marching band was great and the set was very cool. Prince is a good guitar player and I though his choice of music was good.

Actually, I thought this was the best part of the evening minus a few commercials. The game pretty much stunk but Prince brought it (and I hate that fucker so it's not a biased opinion). He was decent on guitar too, a little out of tune once but still good.

Half time was terrible, after two songs I turned him off. He is not what he used to be, yes, he is very talented, but, he lost it long ago.

Halftime in a word: Fü©KING AWESOME.

Crap, that's two words. Oh well, anyone who watched that halftime show in that pouring rain and says it sucked is just afraid that people will think they're gay for admitting that Prince is the man when it comes to performance.

Best HT show I've seen in years and years.

Half-time was on right when I was loading in for the gig, so I didn't get to watch it out front, but I did hear him doing Purple Rain. As Dave said, whether you dig his music or not, you can't deny his talent. The man's a damn genuis. I also like how he gave the music industry a big middle finger by changing his name to something that you can't even pronounce. Prince is one of the few artists whom I don't roll my eyes at when he does something pretentious, because he actually has the talent to back up the artistic license to be pretentious.

You have to admit, though, compared to halftime performers in the past, Prince was very bright, articulate and clean..

Prince still ROCKS! I thought it was too bad he couldn't play longer. As I read in another thread, yeah, he was off on a few notes, but jeez, it was pouring rain - wouldn't that make one's fingers, oh, I don't know, SLIP??? After the Foo tune I said to my daughter, maybe the Foo Fighters will play next year. I didn't think the Stones were bad.
In my opinion who ever was responsible for producing it - setting up the sound, gets the thumbs down - it was difficult to hear them.

The Foo Fighters covered 'Darling Nicky'. I think that was just a way to kick it back to them. All in all it was a pretty good show.

Now THAT was a halfime show. The only complaint I had was that the mix was poor. His vox were great, his guitar overdrove everything else, though. Couldn't hear much of the band. But it was a great show.
Dood...

A lot of people still don't realize that Prince was kept from using his name by record company a-holes when he bagged his record co., so he used a pseudonym, and made the best of a bad situation. He used a symbol for a name, wrote "slave" on his cheek to piss off the suits, and last night he got some much-deserved validation. I've never known anyone who ever saw him live who ever said it was anything but incredible. I have a bootleg of him doing "Red House" (okay, Purple House) with Jonny Lang and Maceo Parker that'll change how you look at Prince.
I remember when everybody was applauding Micheal Jackson as a sweet, talented man-child who loved kids, and Prince was a sex-addicted whack-job who was sending the country down the short road to Hell. Funny how things change.------->JMS

You know what would have made a great performance?

If somebody would have turfed it on stage. That would have made for a great hightlight.

Cheers!

But other than that Prince's performance was great, because the game sure did suck
