wheres your favorite place to listen to music ?

Post by mjb »

i love listening to music in the car. always has been my favorite place to listen. with no passengers. CRANKED. alot of times after the wife gets home, i'll say i'm going for a ride, take my cd of choice and head up over the mountain. it's very theraputic. as i'm sure you all would agree.

so..... wheres your favorite place to listen to music ? and why?

In the car, sometimes, but I mostly use my driving time to catch up on Podcasts.

I listen to music at my desk at work and when I run.

The auto is a great place. It's one of the few places where I'm alone (or with my 2 yr. old son, who rocks out too). Due to the fact that I'm rarely able to get a moment away from everything, the shower is a good place too. Sometimes, when everyone else is asleep, I'll go down in the basement to listen. I like it when there are no distractions and I can just let the music take me away.

That really depends on the mood I'm in at the time but lately I enjoy music through my headphones while laying down to sleep at night. When I'm doing certain chores around the house, a CD in the boombox really helps me to get into it. And when it's time to party, wherever the party is, I like it loud. I could be related to George Thorogood, but I'll pass on the hard stuff for now.
I've drank enough beer to float a battleship! Go ahead and Rock & Roll all night if you can but don't party every day!

About listening with headphones when falling asleep: I used to do that all the time, usually fall asleep with them on and wake up all tangled up... or a long time ago before discmans came out using a walkman (cassette) player and the batteries start to die and the tape slows down its pretty weird when your half asleep...

but now the car is probably my choice because there is no one talking or distracting.

If I ever get my cassette player fixed so I can plug in my CD adapter again, the car will again be a prime place for me to listen to music.

In the meantime, I mainly listen to music while I'm doing work. I often listen in the production room at Q94 while I'm typing up public service announcements on Monday nights or doing other paperwork.

And during the warm weather months, I like to listen to music while I'm outside working on my garden. Listening to CD's makes digging dirt, pulling weeds, and doing other garden work go a lot smoother!

I have a kick ass stereo in my living room that I never get to listen to. So, all of my CD's are in my car. I've also gone for rides just to listen to some tunes. Back in the day,(I'm old  ) we used to get 6's of beer and drive around listening to music! You know, back before drinking & driving was a "bad" thing.

Last night I loved doing it in front of my roaring fireplace in the dark living room. yep, thats prob my favorite. Thats for the mellow stuff like Xavier Rudd and Tori Amos, but in the car I like more lively stuff to keep me awake.

Mostly in the bedroom. Sometimes I'll listen in the car, but I usually listen to NPR while driving (hey, a guy's got to get his left-slanted spin on things somehow. :D ).

Anywhere I can.
I'm a fucking stereo hog at parties too, I don't want to hear anyone elses lame ass music. I try to push my faves on everyone, if you don't like it say something to me. Not trying to be tough thats just the way I am, I push my favorite music on people harder than White oppressing republicans pushing Christianity on third world countries.

ROFL Hilarious, dude.

I like the stereo in my bathroom, I listen to podcasts and learn-this-song CD's mostly, as of late. The acoustics are especially good for blues and bluegrass, and nobody dares bother me.
I also enjoy listening to music in front of a roaring fire at ZappasX's place. Okay, I'm lying. I actually prefer a mellow, crackly fire to a roaring one. ------>JMS
