Well I guess we just differ in what we see the local scene. I have laugh no one sees the issues I am talking about

I sent my pic to a rock page board like this called Pa-Md musicians, and he ain't gonna put it up, like he said he was. Guess he just thought I was hot and wanted my pic. I get tricked way to many times like that.

Another thing is I do not like all this lovey dovey attitude you guys are PRETENDING to feel. I see the crap that goes down. I see a lot of bands with this BATTLE OF THE BANDS MENTALITY. I see a lot of Pa bands who have this MY BAND IS BETTER THAN YOUR BAND attitude. So don't sit there and try to pretend that everyone just gets along in PA. I know what goes on. I see the atttitudes one band gives to another.

To the girl with her pot pie comment, I PERSONALLY THINK YOU ARE SUBSERVENT TO MEN. I think men control you . I personally think you are weak and that you are not a positive role model for young women out there. They should be taught strength not mousy

Wow, Aja... did you go to Berklee in Boston? I hadn't gathered that from the NINE TIMES you mentioned it in previous posts. Somebody's very proud of herself.

Now, let's get down to this.

HOW DARE YOU even insinuate that the fella's here are mysogynists, simply because they didn't kiss your ass with enough gusto to make you happy. I see "chick singers" onstage all the time in this area, and Pennsylvania in general. There are local ladies who throw down with the best of them, and they get MUCH respect... they just do their thing, and if people dig it, Ta-Dah!, people like them. That's how it works. They PAY DUES. They WORK hard. sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. Deal with it, and how you do will determine how folks treat you.
Everybody else here has been really nice to you, and you just couldn't stop bitching and pissing and moaning... little hint... you are a self-fulfilling destiny. You expect everybody to be against you, and soon enough they will be. Then you get to feel like the outsider you want to be. YOU perpetuate the "stereotypes." You WANT guys to type you, so we do.
I have some sage advice for you:
First, pick a side. You can be a kickass hardcore metal singer with her middle-finger outstretched, or a whiny "victim." Can't be both, folks'll call you on it. Being a woman has certain advantages in a rock-n-roll band, many clubowners will book a female-fronted band sight-unseen, because it'll bring guys. Guys like girls, whether you like them or not.
Next, the last time I gagged my way through the Oxygen channel rerun of "Oprah," women were apparently all-powerful poetic goddesses of Creation, and can do anything they G-damn well want to do. Oprah said nothing about it being easy. Deal with it.
Finally, if you're headed for the Philharmonic, Berklee will open doors for you. At Peter C's, you're on your own. We all attended the Central PA Institute of Barroom Ass-Whoopin's, and if you want to play 80's Metal in this area, (which is, not coincidentally, what I did in the 80's), you'd better enroll soon.

Many young musicians are overly cocksure of themselves, as they are supposed to be. I'm the first to admit that a frontperson MUST have some ego. However, you are onstage to entertain people and enjoy time with your bandmates. The audience is not there to bow down before your great talent, and neither is your fellow musicians. Also, what you did yesterday means dick. As you progress in your career, that will become painfully obvious.
As a Berklee student, you may know that the phrases, "Prima Dona," and "Diva" are both Italian operatic terms ... either term will get you nowhere in this area. Get over yourself, and pay them dues.----->JMS

I have no problem with paying these DUES everyone talks about. Yet I can seem to pay the dues with OUT OPPORTUNITY TO DO SO.

I am not asking for a band to just let me in, I AM ASKING FOR AN AUDITION.

I am not interested in doing stuff I have already done. I do the karaoke and the church functions, and the talent shows, etc. Singing by myself or with pre recorded music i have already done.

What I want in the shot for an audition to be in a band. I have always made that clear from the start. So don't offer me shit like one night stands on lead. Big deal, been there done that.

I am not asking for a band to just bow down to me, I am asking for a CHAAAAAAANCE. You are failing to see that.

If I fail, hey, I move on and try again. HOWEVER, I neeeeeeeeeed the chance. NO one here and still no one here is giving me that chance TO PAY MY DUES.

Let me pay my dues. Let me have the chance to do that. Don't give me a one night stand, that means nothing. I am looking for a chance for something permanent. I want to do the group thing, NOT THE SOLO THING.

I'm not looking for someone here to just say YOUR IN THE BAND.
I'm looking for someone here to say, I WILL GIVE YOU AN AUDITION TO BEEEEE IN MY BAND.

I'm not looking for HEY COME AND DO ONE SONG WITH OUR BAND. Big deal.

That is the differences you people are failing to see.

Again, i'm not asking for you guys to just hand me something I didn't earn. I am asking for you to give me a shot at earning something permanent, and that is being in a band. Not a band that already has a lead singer. I want those lazy ass bands who are the ones really hiding from this arguement to step up and give me a shot, and answer my emails.

You people really don't get it, I DO NOOOOT HAVE A BEEF WITH YOU. Simply because YOOOOOU ARE ALLLLLLL READY IN BAAAAAAANDS.

I thank you for you ONE NIGHT STANDS, however I am not interested in doing something I already do. I want the chance, i said CHAAAAANCE to audition. That is all i am asking.

The next time you get into the cars with your wives, LOOK WHERE SHE SITS AND LOOK WHERE YOU SIT.

Who drives? Why? Male domination. Man drive while women sit in passenger side. Why is that?

Good thing you're an 80's metal singer. I bet you already have the spiky haircut.
And 200,000 women should have shut the f*ck up.

( Just kidding ladies, she has such a 'tude I couldn't help myself)

I hate to drive. My wife, who is the true light of my life, does most of the driving. Bet you absolutely hate the fact that I have never raised a hand to her. Bet you hate the fact that she out-earns me (we're musicians, y'all, that happens A LOT). Bet you hate the fact that some men love women or WOMYN, as the case may be.
You don't want to be equal. You're above equal, aren't you? Too late for equal, you want me to genuflect in your godlike presence. To fall prostrate to the floor before you and bask in the glow that is your femaleness. Sorry, can't. My wife says the dishes need done.----->JMS

AJA, What you are failing to see is that you may have to do the "one night stands" to get people to notice your talent. You are wasting your energy now, channel it to the proper place. In all seriousness if you have something to offer, there will be a place for you in a band around here. What we are trying to tell you is, it doesn't matter if you are Mariah Carey or whoever, you have to start somewhere and it usually is somewhere small. Did you ever think that after sitting in with some of the musicians who have offered you "one night stands" that someone in the audience or even in the band you are sitting in for might say "We need this girl in our band?" after hearing you sing? If you can't find an audition right now, then take another avenue. Go sing with someone, you never know who may be in the audience.

Wow, I didn't know that you could earn a doctrate in behaviorism at Berklee.

Again, no one's denying that you might be struggling to find a band. People were listening to you and giving you advice. Someone offered you a spot to set in. You became indignant because this was an insult to you being a women and your prestigious background. You basically called him misogynistic. People were still nice to you. You said you went to Berklee. You claim you don't brag, but made the condesending remarks that you're no "ear trained wannabe" and "You've done more than any of us". No wonder you're not in a band, you have some of the poorest communication skills ever. You contradict yourself with everything you say.

Aja,

I am in a local band and have been for going on 12 years. I have gotten shit on, pissed on, and tossed in the dirt. But for the love of playing out I am still here. I am still paying dues. However, I am holding a gig in my home town on January 31. I am inviting you down to see what you got, since I am so very curious of your talent. If you are interested, we do everything from 70's to today's music. Stuff like Jackyl, AC/DC, Skynard, Puddle of Mudd, Metallica, Megadeth, just to name a few. If you want I will email a full song list, Pick 3 or 4 to sing and the stage is yours. I know of plenty bands always looking for singers and I will invite everyone out. I also will post to everyone else if you respond to my invite. Please take this opp to show off your talent.

Dude, she doesn't want to "sit in". She's already "been there done that". She wants you to give her an audition!

BOW DOWN AND SERVE HER.

Pffft.

I really want some turkey pot pie now. Thanks a lot, Terri. LOL!

Tell ya what, If you are better than my singer, in all aspects of a frontperson. I will tell our singer to walk. No if's, and's, or butt's. Also there will be other bands there, in case you don't work out. And another thing my wife drives and I do laundry. Attention bands who needs a singer, THIS IS ONE BIG AUDITION.

See, Aja? Terri's secure enough to laugh about the green girl because she's done her time at the sh*t gigs, paid them dues, and has a clue. THAT'S a real woman, and a real musician. ------------>JMS (right-wing wife-beating no-talent ear-trained hicktown wannabe)
