Moxham,
I believe that Rush also released an Album of covers, but I can't remember the title. It might be called 'Inspirations'???

You are right that Rush did a CD of covers. It was called "Feedback" in 2004 and had great versions of these tunes:

1. SUMMERTIME BLUES
2. HEART FULL OF SOUL
3. FOR WHAT IT'S WORTH
4. THE SEEKER
5. MR. SOUL
6. SEVEN AND SEVEN IS
7. SHAPES OF THINGS
8. CROSSROADS

Ok, that's it. I heard Summertime blues, and it sounded great.
The one I named might then be George Lynch's cd of covers.
If this is wrong I give up!! lol. I'm just too lazy to look it up.

I agree with many of the covers that were already listed like "You Really Got Me" - Van Halen, "Hurt" - Johnny Cash, "Love Hurts" - Nazareth, "Land of Confusion" - Disturbed, "Ring of Fire" - Social Distortion, ect. There's one that I really like also that I didn't see mentioned & it's Foo Fighters cover of Gerry Rafferty's (former leader of Stealer's Wheel) hit "Baker Street". I think they did an excellent job covering the sax part on guitar.

The Gimme Gimmes are great. I like their cover of "A Few of My Favorite Things" played to the tune of the Bad Religion song "Generator".
