Got to watch Transformers last night. I'll be honest, I don't know Transformers too much (cause it's been awhile), but it was awesome. It was a little long, but that's a Mike Bay flick for ya. I would say stuff about the movie, but I don't want to ruin it for anyone who's going to see it this week.

When I heard this was coming out, I was like, "Hmmm ... that sounds kinda gay," but since I've seen the previews, I'm strangely and somewhat stoked about it.

However, I'm sure I'll wait for the DVD. Don't do theaters too often. Must be an event.

I'm going to see it as soon as I can. I was big into them as a kid and am psyched to see it. Although, as awesome as they were to me when I was young, the movie can't possibly stand up to the expectations. But, still, I'm stoked.

I saw it on Thursday as a sneak preview and it was awesome. Yeah they took some liberties with it, but it was incredible to watch. I only had a beef with two scenes in the movie as far as the CGI went.

My girlfriend's kid has a couple...even from the "before the movie" days....Man I struggle to fold them they way they came in the box....But he's like zip-zip-zip...done...Movie looks pretty cool!

M.A.S.K. was the shiznit. I never really watched TV when I was little. I don't remember the Transformers show or GoBots or M.A.S.K., but I had some of the toys, and they ruled.

By the way I saw Transformers last night and it was awesome. I don't know how true it was to the cartoon, but it was a pretty good movie. Anyone who is upset megatron doesn't transform into a gun is a dork, how does a giant robot turn into a handgun? Its unrealistic, even for a movie about sentient GM vehicles that turn into giant robots.

Word. I remember when the toy didn't come out until way after the show, instead of the toy being what the show was created around.
The Flintstones was The Simpsons of my generation. The Jetsons was a knockoff, but a great one. Man, I can't watch the crap on Saturday morning now... even with beans. Pee Wee's Playhouse and Hey Vern It's Ernest were MADE for wake n' bake. MADE for it. But even they can't beat the surreal slapstick of Tom & Jerry and the Warner Bros. cartoons when a brother is beanified. My senior year of high school was a haze of Tom & Jerry cartoons and hash-beans.

It was said Looney Tunes were too violent the way they were, yet the crap from the 80s to today being fine and dandy makes no sense.

Yea, I mentioned The Stones as a pun although I really liked that show. You are right, though, Looney Tunes is the deal. I have the 16 disc collection. I think there's 240 cartoons in all. Bugs is my favorite. He could really fuck with someone. Sam, especially. Anyway, the labels say recommended for adult viewing. I watched a show not too long ago about old cartoons and the one had a warning at the beginning saying that it may contain racially sensitive images. It had a stereotypical indian in it. You know woo, woo,woo, the canoe, feather in the headband. People need to get a grip. Especially when it's a freakin' cartoon.

Yeah, I have some old, WWII-era Fleischer Superman cartoons on DVD and I love how in some of them, Superman does battle with the "Japs" and they all have coke bottle glasses and buck teeth. LOL.

BTW, Boomerang plays Flintstones and Jetsons all the frikkin time. Sweet. Tom and Jerry still to this day makes me laugh me arse off, and NOTHING compares to classic Loney Tunes. Bugs was/is da man/wabbit, but I think old sKool Daffy effed people up in equal fashion. If people can't discern between a CARTOON and actual violence, then there's a problem.

And Yes, Voltron still kicks ass after all these years. All of the above mentioned are great for wake and bake.

The other night we went to go see 1408 then we watched Transformers.

Steven King seems to be lacking in his movies now a days, but it wasnt to bad, seems like there should have been more to it.

But Transformers was an awesome movie - If you grew up watching the cartoon when you was younger - Then its something to go see...

( IMO - The next movie they should do, should be Thundercats - Now that would be awesome)

GoBots were the poor man's Transformers!

Took the kids to see the movie this past weekend. I was a big TF junkie for many years, but yet I didn't have any real big expectations to be crushed; The storyline has been altered and re-told for many years, so there never was any "official" continuity/canon to be ruined.

Anyway, Transformers geekery follows...

Several nods to the original series to be seen; At the car lot, the Bumblebee Camaro was parked right beside the original form of Bumblebee, a VW. Prime saying "One shall stand and one shall fall" to Megatron, was also said in the old cartoon movie. "Freedom is the right of all sentient beings" was Prime's exact slogan from the old days. Megatron saying "Once again you fail me, Starscream" was neat. (although I wish they would have gave Starscream a screechy voice like he had originally.) Probably several other references that I'm forgetting at the moment.

I was a bit disappointed in the selection of Decepticons in the movie. And using the name "Devastator" for the tank was bad, given that the original Devastator was a giant "gestalt" robot formed from the combination of the 5 Constructicons, and wasn't exactly a minor character. (I hear that Hasbro changed the toy to have the proper name, "Brawl", but the change didn't make it in time for the movie release). Megatron's death was rather uneventful as well. However, they've left the door wide-open for a sequel.

Yeah, I know entirely too much about this stuff for a 36 year old.
