Are We The End?

Post by Primates »

Ok, It may just be my negativity clouding my vision but does anyone else think that my generation is going to be the end? From ages 12 to 18 (Im 16) i cant stand the way folks my age view or deal with things.

On 9/11 in 2006 a friend left me a comment on my myspace page saying "Happy Plane Crash Day"......What THE Fuck?

All we (my generation) seem to care about is who is leaving us photo comments on our myspace pictures and whos talking shit. Is it just me...or are we so ignorant that we will be it?

I try talking to people my own age about the news, The war in Iraq and Afghanistan or any other topic an intelligent human being might talk about. But everyone my age has this policy of "Ignorants is the way! I dont want to know about anything because everything is so scary id rather not know!"

If you gave people my age the choice of dieing on our feet or living on our knees...i fear it would be living on our knees.

Am i alone in this thinking? If i am...grab your shovel and put me out of my misery. lol

u r obviously a lot more intuitive then ppl your age... prob why u chose music as a hobby

I was pretty much a dumb fuck when it came to current events when I was 14; I wanted to scare the shit out of ppl when I recited satanic lyrics from a Slayer or Deicide song... I wanted to date goth chics and play metal... I figured Id never be old enough vote or to drink legally

all of a sudden I was 17, a kid on the way, and working a fulltime job caring about how shit really works

lead them into future

In the world we live in today...i should pay attention. I have no problem focusing on my life and actually paying the fuck attention to the world.

Ignorance is bullshit...no matter what your ignoring. I just hate how everyone uses it like its a god damn shield.

Words can not describe my frustration. Can you imagine where we'll be in 10 years? If the world is going to depend on the people coming up next (folks my age) Things are going to get much much worse.

In 10 years your newspaper headlines will be "OMG! Terroizm TTYL!" lol

Well, if there's one thing that I've learned in life, it's that you really can't control how people think. There's a lot of sleeping people in this world. There's no sense in trying to wake up the apathetic. In my experience, the apathetic often get steamrolled in life anyways. Reality's malleable. When it comes to my life, everyone's invited along for the ride, but if they don't want to or can't keep up, then they can eat dust. I've always been interested in chasing my own muses, and if people don't understand why, it's really no big deal. I've pretty much have been accused all of my life of overanalyzing everything, and to a point, I think that there's a lot of truth in that. On the other hand, if something piques my interest, I want to know all that I can about it.

It does suck that a lot of people aren't interested in social issues. On the other hand, was any young generation really that interested in the social issues of the day? Sure, you can cite the Flower Children, but most of them proved that they were posuers anyways. The ones preaching communal living and anticoporation became yuppies in the 80s, grabbing for everything they could get their greedy hands on.

Maslow said that mental unhealthyness is the result of not having a solid life philosophy. I don't think that I developed a solid philosophy until I was about 22. Self-actualization is a personal journey; keep that in mind. From reading many of the original poster's posts on here, it sounds like he has a good head on his shoulders.

I get exactly what you're saying. I have no interest in telling people what to think. If you take a look at everything in the world and then look at all the people ignoring it because they cant even fit in their head it sendsBut i can not believe the apathy and ignorance. Its pathetic, It makes me want to puke and thats the only way i can describe it.

Yes i wish there was something that could be done about it. But im not pulling my hair out and going insane over it. All im saying is get ready for the end man. lol Cradle of Filth said it all. "We can't keep on living like this".

Maybe things will change. They probly won't. But we can dream.

It's not your age group dude.
There are people in their 40's and 50's who have never amounted to shit in life, let alone left their mom and dad's basement.

Some kids you know, will eventually grow up, and some won't.

Life is just like anything else, Some people fucking suck at it.

I'd say you are probably down to 2 choices:

1. make an idiotic, goofy video that also communicates the idea you want to get across (a la Michael Moore) and post it on MySpace.

2. develop a video game about the idea you want to get across.

ROFL! Yeah, that they would!

But yeah, that's how it is. No matter what age you are, you can name a few people that are clueless as to the world beyond their four walls. Yeah, it's kinda sad. That's life really. There're some people that know what's goin on, and some that don't have a clue, and wouldn't if a nuke was on their head. I know that at 15, I wasn't too interested in politics. I'm still not too interested, as I'm rather perturbed at how our government tends to dish us what they can't take, and take what they don't earn. But then I suppose apathy teaches us differently than disgust. Learning the hard way is still learning... And probably how a lot of people have to learn

The following is a statement released from the SANCHEZ '08 Presidential Campaign Headquarters.

"The issues raised in this thread are ones that have been troubling the American people for many years. And I am fully aware of the toilsome dilemmas, that many citizens of this great nation face each and every day. Accordingly, my staff and I, have been working dilegently to create a solution to this adverse quandry. It is our goal, that within the next few weeks, we will have constructed a resolution that is firm, and yet flexible enough to encompass the concerns of the entire populace. I assure you, we will not stray, nor falter from our obdurate course of resolve, untill such a program can be initialized." D.L. Sanchez

I work with an older gentleman who is so clueless about anything worldly that him and I could probably get into an argument wheter the world was flat or round.

This is not generation specific, we just have to learn how to communicate to the future.

Its not politics that im concerned about. Yesterday myself and my old man were talking about the car bombs in London and i looked at him and said "what kind of shit did you bring me into?" lol. He just looked at me and said "I had no idea...if i would have known i would have castrated myself!" haha.

Its just shit like that. If people dont start paying attention there won't be a future. This is the worst possible time for apathy and ignorance to reighn.

I hate sounding anything like an activist or anything of the sort. But things cant go on this way. Come this August ill be eligible for the Rangers and im seriously considering signing the fucking papers. In 5 years id love to still be doing shows. But if some asshole is blowing up venues with a car bomb it wont matter.

I assume that you're talking about what society refers to as "winners" & "losers". Why do people have to judge each other like they do anyway? It's sick human nature & everyone does it, we just can't help ourselves. I mean, yeah, some things are obvious as far as a person's standing in life is concerned. But if a person is content with their particular situation, they're good to go. No-one else can really know if that is the case or not. Everybody has their own destiny to fulfill. If I wake up tommorrow morning (or afternoon) & breath the air & see the light, I'll consider myself a winner, as long as I'm not in a prison cell. Even then, I'd be happy to be alive. It all boils down to a question of balance. For the scales of life on this earth to be balanced, there has to be opposite entities for that to be achieved. No, actually that's one of the biggest lies ever told. It doesn't have to be that way, but the world is evil. Evil creates failure for many reasons, other people's apathy & greed pops to mind first. When I was young, my Mom told me that you have to be a go-getter in life to make things good for yourself. I would give that same advice to any young person today. Too bad I never listened to my Mother.
I gave you my heart. Whatever God gave me.
