Oh no, all of my screw ups all permenently out there for the world to see (I know that one of the verse fills I played was more sloppy than Rosie O' Donnell at an all-you-can eat buffet.)

Once again, many thank yous to you guys. It's a great feeling to get respect from your peers when it comes to something like this, especially when it's from people in bands like 4 Days Dirty, Fedup, and The Marauders: Guys known for kickass original material. Bob, I'm glad that you dig the hook, because we struggled for a couple of rehearsals to find that. LOL We actually have plans on adding backing vocals to the chorus, but we just finished the song five days prior to the performance, so there are still details we'd like to work on.
...and if anyone deserves to have a few drinks, it's Bag. He's become not only an avid fan of the band, but also a great friend. Bag rocks!!!

Many thanks to all of you for the kind words ... I hate being that guy that asks, "What did you think?" so big thanks to devoted bad daZe disciple Bag for shooting the vid and posting it, too.
The hook was elusive for a while and then I was driving down the road a few hours before our last rehearsal prior to the debut show and it came out of nowhere ... thank God.
There will be more coming real soon, I'm sure. This is the part where they start churning out and I can speak for myself to say that I "have the bug."

good points: good bass line. catchy beat.
bad points: sound was a bit muffled. couldn't really get a major feel for the lyrics. background vocals were non existent. Guitar came across as a bit off in some parts. Like the notes were being made up as going along for a bit.
Not too shabby though for a first effort. Def has some potential. If one of ya'll got a home recording set up, re-record it. I'd like to hear it minus all the feedback from the video.

I was at the show, happened to have my inexpensive (cheap!) camera along, heard that their first original was next, and thought it would be cool to record it. It sounded great live! Next time I'll be sure to bring my boom mic's and my digital sound recording stuff and dub over Rob's off key vocals 
and remix it for you! Better yet, come down to the County Line In Mt. Union Saturday night and check it out "live."

Well babydoll, I wasn't saying you did a bad job. You work with the tools you have. And I really didn't notice Rob was that far off key. I was more listening to the instrumentation of the song. Perhaps I will partake of a show at some point to see how the song progresses. But hey if you're willing to go through all that headache of dragging out the mics and such I'm sure that's at the very least worth a good spanking.

I thought the structure was very good. I like the fact I didnt have to be beat over the head how good each individual member was with senseless noodling (which is common for a modern hard rock original that goes absolutley nowhere) I also liked the fact that this was the type of song that BD should and would play. Good stuff.
note to all bands: PLEASE oh PLEASE when playing your new baby dont do the "We are gonna play an original song we wrote" FUCK that... play it loud, proud; and only give the war cry after the battle has been fought and won

Hey, not everyone's going to dig it and that's cool. Not everyone digs our cover material, so I didn't expect everyone to dig our original material. As I said, it was completed five days prior to performance, and I already stated that backing vocals are in the works. A board recording would have been a nice memento, but it was very cool that Bag grabbed his camcorder for the occasion. No, it wasn't an immaculate performance - hence poking fun at myself in my first post in this thread - but things will tighten up as the material gets more stage time. It's a good idea to perform material for about six months before putting it to wax, because songs evolve. On the other hand, you can sit in the rehearsal room forever picking things apart and nothing ever sees the light of day *coughchinesedemocracycough*. The fact that this thread has so many replies is really cool, because usually anytime anyone posts material on here, it gets pretty much ignored...or there are a decent amount of replies, but it's just the same three people replying. I'm really humbled by the positive response so far.
Chad, I really dig your response, because we didn't want to come off wanky or like we're each in our own world, doing our own thing without regard to what the others are doing.
Though we kind of had to alert everyone that this was our song, so the RFTT crew was ready. As the material becomes more pervasive, it will most likely get worked into our setlist and treated like any other song without a formal introduction. I will admit that when I was playing the song prior to this and looked down at the setlist to see it was next, I got nervous. And I never get nervous on stage! You really are putting yourself out there when you perform original stuff live. It was still a great thrill!!!
