StarWars keyboard solo medley "LIVE"

Post by Michael Troy »

Being the Star Wars junkie I am I thought it was time to get my keyboard solo tribute recorded.
So Here it is, my Star Wars keyboard solo medley "Live" rendition with no overdubs
This is exactly how it sounds live.
I have all the instruments added into each sound setting as the themes rotate. In other words...if I play soft I get strings, if I play a little harder I get brass and if I slam the keys I get Timpani, brass, woodwinds and strings. In addition to that, I have the keys split up with different instruments assigned to various zones of the keyboard. Plus, I have a little sample I trigger Live before Imperial March (see if you can guess who it is lol)
Here is the link to it:

May the hair FORCE be with you! :P

So you have something like 4 different senitivies on your keys and depending on how hard you push them, determines what insturment they sound?

Its a graded touch response plus I can assign various instruments to different zones (splits) and then change the pitch of a certain zone to make it more playable live (i.e. @ the end of "Luke's Theme, Im actually playing the lower french horn part in the right hand and the higher tremolo string in the left) It takes a good bit of time to first get the layers, splits, effects, EQ all perfect but its so worth it when its just right.

That's awesome man. The Imperial March is a bad ass tune, I love to chug it out on the guitar. Vader would be proud man.
