Van Hagar touring this summer

After an 8 year hiatus, Sammy has joined back up with VH and they just announced a summer tour. Ticket prices are $87.50 BEFORE the ticket outlet slaps on their handling charges. I'll pass... even though it is Eddie, that is just too much for a ticket.

87.50? Ha, I'll go to Dream Theater or G3 for much less...or ill go to ozzfes to watch Zakk Wylde play for 65 for pavilion....

I doubt that at this price many will sell out...some still will but not like if they only charged 40

Remember when The Eagles came in; what was the price of a ticket? Wasn't it like 125 dollars or something?

Anyways, I'm the minority in the band. I'm the only one who likes Sammy-era Van Halen, so this is good news to me. What was up with the Gary Cherone thing? Extreme one was of the most kick ass bands of the late 80's but Gary and Van Halen just don't go together. Did anyone see that show on VH-1 where they tried to reunite Extreme?

Nothing will beat the first Van Halen album, though. (even though Balance comes in as a close second to my fav VH album)

The Van Hagar reunion is very sad news. Like any David Lee Roth fan, I've looked forward to a true reunion with Dave for nearly 20 years. It almost happenned in 1996 and again in 2000. For some reason, Eddie VH is clueless. Getting back together with an overstuffed cheeseball like Hagar is emabarrassing. I'd prefer VH move ahead with a fourth singer rather than this overpriced, ballad-singing, Nissan-driving, pepsi-and-milk-drinking, no-balls "reunion." I won't spend a dime on concert tickets, CDs or other merchandise for this joke of a reunion.

Roth is god.

Ticket prices suck ass! Plus the damn charges that Ticket Master racks on for processing...that's crap.

Anyway, they are also working on another greatest hits CD or something. They have a new original out with Sammy. Not sure of all the details, but I did hear about the one new song together.

I saw that show with Extreme. Kinda sucked if you ask me. All because Nuno was being a bitch about the reunion. Oh well. Gary actually is in a new band called Tribe of Judah, which is pretty good. It's not Extreme-like at all. Sort of reminds me a lot of NIN as far as the electronic arrangements of some of their songs, but you can tell it's him behind the mic.

I believe that $87 is for second section. First section was reserved for fan club gold members and were like $200. And as for only supporting the cheesy Hagar or the ego-maniac Roth, who cares! It's a chance to see a legendary guitarist. From what i heard about his lung cancer, hes lucky to still be playing guitar. I think we're even luckier to be able to see him live. I was too young to get the chance to see him in his prime, so this may be my only chance.

Going by the press release we received at the station for the Hershey show, $87.50 was the highest price. Ticket prices actually start at $45 for the cheap seats.

I've always been a Van Hagar fan, so I wouldn't mind checking that show out, especially given Eddie's cancer scare. I'd like to see another reunion with Diamond Dave, too; but I don't think you'll see one any time soon after the bad blood from the last one.

I've always liked Sammy's solo stuff, but I never quite cared for him with Van Halen. I too would have rather seen a Roth reunion. Then *maybe* the high ticket price could be justified.

I spoke with someone that seen one of the shows on the "Sam and Dave" tour. He said Hagar's portion of the show, while good musically, was rather pathetic in how it seemed as if Hagar was rather insecure about being on the same bill as Roth, even going as far as to show a 20-minute film, a perspective on his career, before he went on, which basically amounted to a big self-pat on the back. Dave came out and got right down to business for his part of the show.

Well, anyway, hopefully the DLR Band will come around the area soon.
