burnt to a crisp

Post by Bloodsong »

i foolishly braved the heat without any protection all saturday and now look like i just left the burn clinic. even more disturbing was i that found myself thinking something i never thought possible; i actually wanted to see the end of the sun.

Hey "God," you got your "Porcelain," so stop complaining!

And welcome to the club. The sun put a reddish tint on my skin Saturday at Ace's Music as well...

I on the other hand, see no sun. I live in town with no yard. I'm probably the whitest white guy in Roaring Spring.

OUCH, poor Darthy, JP and Ed! Might I recommend SPF 50 or higher in the future? There's now actually SPF 70. Most Sunscreens are not icky and oily like they used to be. I've still been comparatively pale after a week enjoying da shore. Metalchurch, I can SO relate. That's one thing that bites about living in town, no yard at all - but, at least you don't have to mow! :) 3 blistering burns have been enough for me. "As God is mah witness, ah'll nevah burn again!" The worst was when I was 16, on a row-boat on a lake for 5-6 hours. Like an IDIOT I used baby oil with iodine in it like my dark tanning friend. I ended up with Sun-poisoning and had to miss our class trip. We still laugh about it, she a bit more than I. I greatly enjoy the outdoors, but I have to do it sensibly. Besides, I thought my crispy, crunchy ears were SO gross!

For me you need to put a (1) one in front of the 70 for sun screen to keep me fron burning. Maybe I need to go ask NASA for some ideas

I do NOT want to hear it.... It has been 90+ degrees for 3 weeks straight, with no rain, and no change in sight.

Do you know why the Devil lives in Hell?

Cuz it's too damn hot in Alabama! Image Image

The heat can definitely suck, but I'll take it over the cold, especially considering it seemed like winter was never going to end this year. I hate winter. I hate snow. I hate the cold.

I think I'd rather it be cold than quite this hot.

I was in Ocean city in the 80's and preceded to get drunk on the beach and pass out with my legs exposed outside a big umbrella. When i woke up my ankles were swelled with sun poison and i couldnt walk. I mean huge!! I was playing with Giornesto at the time and had to cancel a show at Swizzles in York with Wrathchild... Bummer man it was....

I gotta watch the sunburn... the last several years, if I burn, I get a stupid cold sore on my upper lip. The sunburn releases histamines into the skin, that goad the cold sore germs into action.
Another sun-related problem:
Obviously, I'm a big fan of the female boobie... except for the leathery aged look one gets from too much sun (I'm also against boob-jobs, but that's another thread). If 20-year-old girls knew what their snoobies will look like at 40, they'd NEVER go to a tanning bed, the boobies would never see the light of day.----->JMS

That's a bigger burn than any sunburn.
Tough crowd, I guess.

"The Sun is good."

Yeah, I agree!
Most especially when one ends up with skin seared a deep red, arms and legs burned so badly you can't walk or move normally for days. That is so AWESOME!!! Don't forget the sheer JOY of the burn blisters...big, clear liquid filled bubbles that effortlessly slide off, leaving you raw, exposed skin and even more pain. Mmmmmm yeah, that's so good I'll never do it again!
