Have you been listening to any good new music. New Releases, new Bands, Old bands just introduced to you?

I've been listening to The new unreleased Bad Brains alot.
The vocals are kinda weird at first, but overall it kicks much ass.

Also been meaning to rip the Unreleased Municipal Waste.

Thrash that hasn't been heard of since DRI. These guys rule.

Anything worth checkin out, post it.

I like this new band called Decemberadio. Every song has a different sound. They just had two hits with Love Found Me and Drifter. They were picked as one of the top 10 bands to watch by Billboard Magazine for 2006. Check out some of their tunes on their website.

Its been out for a while but I just recently got Soilworks' Stabbing The Drama. This album is Insanely good. at least thats my opinion. Also The Human Abstract is just crazy. The musicianship in that band is Top Notch..

It's not new, but I really dig Breaking Benjamin's "Phobia"...that disc kicks all kindsa musical assitude. Lots of good harmonies, layers of sound, and awesome production value. Really good stuff!

I just bought Six Feet Under 's "Warpath" on CD. I used to own the tape yrs ago, and our band covered 3 tunes off of the album on memory alone. Its kinda basic, stoned death metal without the ultra low vox.

Not sure if u'd like it or not Sanchez...

I dig it...

I finally picked out Remembering Never's first release " She looks so good in red" and I LOVE it, my favorite cd of theirs... Has some of the most brutal music i've ever heard them put out but yet they have acoustic songs with some of the most melodic stuff theyve written, its a great mix.. Can't stop listening to it

I went through this period where all I listened to was Six Feet Under, Deicide, and Cannibal Corpse. I still listen to these regularly, but not exclusively.

Hey Sanchez, if you haven't already, you should check out Torture Killer's "Swarm". If you like Cannibal Corpse, you'll love these cats. Awesome CD, I rarely take it out of my CD changer.

been also listening to Goatwhore's latest disc. Its over the top... way over.

I also liked T.K. stuff, and I been listening to the Killers. Def not the same kinda music, but I think some of the Killers' music is clever...

I threw "Sabbath Bloody Sabbath" in the other day; one of my fav jams of all time has got to be Killing Yourself To Live... Type O Negative referenced it a few times live... would play a few bars of it and it was crushingly heavy. Always wished they would have covered it...

I think the Type O is alot like the last one meets their first; some of it is vintage TON which I absolutlely love... some of it still seems too commercial for me (like some of the newer stuff); if u like TON its a damn good disc... a casual fan; I am not sure if I see it winning them over

I also dug out my Overkill "Horrorscope" and "Years of Decay" I had to throw YOD away, apparently I spilled beer on it during my last drunken listen to it, prob bangin to Skullcrusher, one of the heaviest tunes of all time

I'm waiting for "The Cursed" first album to come out. It's called "Room Full Of Sinners." Here's a link to their Myspace page where you can hear clips of 2 of their songs. Metalheads should check it out!

Killing yourself to live is my favoriate Sabbath song next to Lord of this World. I've been jamming the new Six Feet Under, this just plain rips, as usual. Overkill is awesome too!! I had Obituary in this morning on my way to work. Tardy's voice is extreme, to say the least, and Allen West has all of these amazing riffs.

I'm really into the last Kevin Federline CD.

Okay, not really, but with everybody naming these brutal bands, I had to be different, and I'm kinda beyond the latest Nadgrinder or Spearing Puppies records.

They were playing the hell out of the new Screaming Cheetah Wheelies cover of an old Dr. John song in St Croix last week... that was cool. I always thought that song could benefit from a metal makeover... this version wasn't metal, but still a good song.------>JMS

I am listening to Wilco's Sky Blue Sky, and despite the fact that I heard it got some bad reviews, I think it's a pretty sweet album. The only thing that would make it better is a jack and coke.

It's been out for a while and I've had it for a couple of months, but I've really been getting into Unearth's In the Eyes of Fire. It took a while to really "sink in," because it's not immediately accessible. There really aren't a lot of hooks, and their songs don't follow the typical verse/chorus/verse/chorus structure. What an excellent band, though! Their guitarists are highly underrated. They come up with these awesome harmonized rythmn parts. There's not a lot of typical guitar solos on this disc, but these cats can definitely shred when they do take a solo! The guitar tone is amazing. I don't know what they're running, but it really sounds like it could possibly be old Mesa Mark IIIs or Mark IVs. Their drummer is insane! He's just so tight, but still has a lot of groove. Also, the lyrics are very intelligent and meaningful.
"He's the electric horseman, you better back off!" - old sKool making a reference to the culturally relevant 1979 film.

Sucks

Post by UNEARTHA7XMatt »

What sucks is UNEARTH just recently Parted ways with their Drummer. That dude is awesome tho and Ken Susi and Buzz McGrath are amazing guitarists. They are definately underrated. If you like In The Eyes Of Fire you would love The Oncoming Storm. Its the album right before III... Check it out..

I'm currently listening to a band from New York City called Real Be Easys, and their CD Lost Paradise. The sound is a hard-driving blend of Chili Peppers funk rock with hints of 70's Kool & the Gang and Ohio Players mixed in. It's pretty edgy stuff, I like! (Full review of the album in next month's Pennsylvania Musician.)
