Yeah, that happened to me at Sheetz yesterday when I had to top off my van for this weekend. I think from now on I'll try to stick to my old habit of not letting the gas level get below 3/4 of a tank. That way, when I do top it off, it won't seem so bad.

Yeah, cuz I use 25 gallons of milk just to get to work every week.IScreamSLAYERatCoverBands wrote:still... when you put into perspective that 1 gallon of gasoline.. which is used to power a half-ton mechanism that can haul 6 people plus a trunkload of shit has JUST become a little more expensive than a gallon of milk... a beverage... it kind of puts things into perspective

I remember someone once said to me that the average Sheetz employee probably doesn't make enough money to drive to work in order to sell the gas that they need to put in their vehicle. That's an ironic little observation.

Nah, My dads Ex works out a Sheetz here in Du Bois. And she makes damn good money too. May be true for some of the other stores. But none around here. One thing is for sure, We're getting raped on gas. Im hoping that bill the senate passed will fuck big oil up.

I remember seeing The Road Warrior on either TBS or TNT a few years ago, and they had Billy Bob Thornton providing color commentary on the movie during commercial breaks. This is what I've been doing, although not necessarily by choice. The gas gauge on my car is screwed up; it will show the tank full when I get it filled, but within five minutes the gauge drops to empty, so I'm not certain where the level of gas in my tank is. So I top the tank off every other day or so, just to be on the safe side.I think from now on I'll try to stick to my old habit of not letting the gas level get below 3/4 of a tank. Even though the Mad Max trilogy are my favorite three movies of all time, I hope real life doesn't get that bad on the roads.I wonder if I can soup up my Ford Focus to look like one of those vehicles in Mad Max. It looks like the plot of that trilogy is going to start playing itself out pretty soon.

I just went on a 4-hour ride Friday and it only cost $8 to top off the tank.
Burnt my arms and nose to a crisp--it was great fun.

...Oh, the freedom of the day that yielded to no rule or time...
Here is a current map that shows the cumulative various state sales taxes charged on a gallon of gas to consumers. This is in addition to all the other national, state, and local taxes charged to the oil companies and businesses that sell gas for them to operate. Ultimately, these taxes are also passed on to consumers and included in the price of a gallon of gas.undercoverjoe wrote:More than half of the price of gas is TAXES. Why not ask the oh so concerned politicians to cut their take, and cut the tax on gas and make it afforable?
Everyone loves to hate business. The cost of gas is governtmental also, half of it is taxes.
