MeYatch and I were talking about these the other night. Does anyone here have any experience with either the guitar or bass version? I know that sometimes it sucks trying to learn a song and there's a fast passage where it might be hard to tell exactly what intervals are being played. I know that I've played the "Is that a major third or a minor third" when learning some less-than-diatonic songs. You can slow down a song with one of these without changing the pitch. You can also loop a passage which is nice if you want to keep hammering at something until it's tight.
Anyone ever use one?

"He's the electric horseman, you better back off!" - old sKool making a reference to the culturally relevant 1979 film.
try downloading audacity. you can change the tempo without changing pitch. is works good for the most part. when you try and slow down distorted guitar it gets real weird sounding after a certain point. ive done this several times to figure things out. sometimes it works good and sometimes not so good. try it to see if you like it.
i have one, i think it would be cool if i knew how to work it! i got it when my daughter was born, absolutly had to have one. thought they were neat, got it home fucked around with it for about 15 minutes couldn't figure it out, wrapped the cord around it and put away. i thought it would be cool to jam to stuff with the headphones and wouldn't bother anybody. i think you can take the vocals and the guitar off and use it that way. boy, there should be some real players comming up with learning tools like they have these days. i;m gonna have to get that thing back out. yeah right. it will do all the things you mentioned and alot more. i think i paid......... 140 maybe? i think its a cool gadget +you can throw a couple of batteries in and take it with ya. which is nice.
Had one and never figured out how to slow it down. Just used it for a headphone amp basically. Buy a copy of Slowgold for around $20.00 for your PC. It will convert a wav file and then you can slow the whole song down or a portion and loop it, Works great and is very intuitive to use!
Not worth the money (Tascam trainer) IMHO but hey I like beans too
