i can't lie.
That was horrible.
I think the people in the mullet thread would even be ashamed.
That Drag Clown look was all Dee had going for him.

The only thing I've liked from this guy was STRANGELAND.

I was in a project once that did a version of "Eleanor Rigby". Fortunately...
it sounded nothing like that.

Though, I will say that the video concept (The vignettes in between Dee Snider and...apparently the only other guy in T.S. he could get to appear
with him), was solid (Sans the balloons hanging. No point there). Only
problem with it was that I seriously doubt SHE has trouble finding friends.

No that's short for Sick Mother Fuckers. A name that Twisted Sister gave to their fans. Which, there's about 3 on here, from what I gather so far!

While I usually reserve the negative commentary, that sucks. The only thing that kept me from fully realizing how bad Eddie Ojayda (sp?) sucks is the fact that he is next to Dee Snider, who sucks even worse.

Eddie Ojeda actually had some good guitar parts, I don't care what anyone says. 'We're not gonna take it' is by far their shittiest song, and yet sadly, that is the one song that most people know them by.
They did release a few crap albums, as did most bands.
Under the Blade, You can't stop Rock n' Roll, and Stay Hungry are my favoriates.

They actually went into the studio and re recorded the whole Stay hungry album, released under the title 'Still Hungry'. The over all sound is more in your face compared to the 1985 version. Studio technology.

Jay Jay French and Eddie Ojeda most certainly hold their own against most bands of that era. Their image was most certainly queer, for lack of a better term, but as I've said before I don't care what they look like. It's whats coming out of my speakers that counts.

Same as Halford being a pipe smoker, who cares, the guy could sing like a mother fucker.

Well, I'm not goin' to knock Twister Sister's music. Not my thing, but
everyone has the stuff they like or don't. I guess I would say that they
seem to have had more "musical" stuff than a lot of bands that came a
few years after. Their guitar parts seemed more geared towards the
songs than the tweedlers that came about later on.

And anyone's sexual orientation, real or perceived, is irrelevant. Just
doesn't affect me. Makes no difference whatsoever about how I feel
about their music. Easily, Freddy Mercury was one of the best singers
ever, prolly the best rock singer, hands down, Elton John has some of
the best songs you could hope to write, regardless of liking to dress
like a big Donald Duck, or whatever. Bowie pushed the whole boundaries
thing and the guy was, and is, brilliant.

Twisted Sister seemed were more influenced by the glam bands from
the 70s than most, I'd imagine, so that weighed in on their makeup. Not
to mention shock value.

WILL say that one of the best Christmas presents ever was being in Texas,
Christmas morning of...1984, I believe and my younger brother proudly
showing the cassette cover of "Stay Hungry" he'd gotten as a present to
my Southern Baptist grandmother. CAN'T beat that reaction!

All of that being said... unfortunately, their "Eleanor Rigby" still sucks.

Everyone is entitled to their opinion, and I certainly respect that.
I guess I just get too defensive about the music I like, as I'm sure most do to some extent.

I really enjoyed the 20 questions interview that Dee did with Metal Sludge a few years back. Basically, he said that there's nothing wrong with older rock and metal outfits getting back together to do reunion tours, but they're just fooling themselves if they think that people are going to still consider them musically relevant. Dee's a smart guy, and I always enjoy hearing his perspective on things.

Heck ya. Bustin' on each other's music taste is fun. We sit here all day
saying "There's NO way you really like "Invisible Touch". No. Not possible".
Then proceed to try to get the worst schlock into each other's minds.

Not to mention knocking our own favourites (Robin Trower got worked over
today). Today's knockout was finding a Tommy Shaw/Jack Blades version
of "Dance With Me". EEEESH!!.

When worst comes to worse there's always the iTunes free song of the week.

Later man.

Yeah Dee Snider is a very smart guy. I remember seeing him on TV in court against Tipper Gore??? I don't know something about the content of his music and he pretty much represented himself on behalf of all of the Metal music community. I think he portrayed himself very well. I'm sure they weren't expecting him to be mannered like that.

And Tommy Shaw Rocks!!! Great tone!
