deer damage!!

Post by nighthawk »

to make things short. i was driving to work in the van. deer crossed road and bang!!! most of the frontend is now part of the motor. i was doing about 50 at the time of impact. i have been having the worst luck. since the first of may ive made three trips to the emergency room. hospitalized to have surgery. mostly laid off with hardly any income. now my van is trashed and i have no ride. why is it when one thing goes its just nothing but disaster from then on?

You think your life is currently in the 'shatter'? Try being this man....

Image

Incase you didn't get it... that's Itzhak Stern. He was a jew. He was a 'Schindler Jew'. At any given time during the holocaust... his life could have been ended. His family could have been taken from him, he was put on trains, forced to show people the proper documentation every day, and hope that he didn't leave it at home... in fact he did forget his papers once... he damn near went to Auschwitz...

You think hitting a deer with your van is devestation? Try shoveling snow next to the one armed man who got shot in the face just 2 feet from you because he only had 1 limb... I think you'll find your life is just a 'skosh' easier...

Have a Good Day

Actually, that's Ben Kingsley. He's an actor. He really never had to show anyone documentation. He had his own dressing room and they brought him bagels when they weren't shooting the film.

After 6 gigs in a row where I had to go down Cresson mountain on Rt 22, I got stopped in time at deer xings each night.

The odds caught up with me after the 7th gig in a row, 4/28.

I was going 70mph down new Rt. 22 from Gallitzin and suddenly, Bambi looked like a Roberto Clemente line drive to right-center. The Element took $3000 damage--I'm supposed to get it back from the shop today.

As already documented on an earlier thread, I had my run-in with Bambi last month while heading back home from State College on Route 550 just outside of Warrior's Mark. And I didn't hit Bambi, Bambi came out into the road and broadsided me, busting off my driver's side mirror. Fortunately, my car insurance covered the repair and replacement.

I found it interesting that the mirror replacement cost itself was $189. The body shop told me that they would buff and polish the scuffs Bambi put on the side of my car, but if the polish didn't fix the paint job, it would cost $500 to $600 to re-do that side of the car. The two minor paint scuffs cost more to repair than the mirror! Fortunately, they did a good enough job on the scuffs that further work didn't need done (the car is already nine years old, why bother with paint work now?).

I'm going to State College tonight to catch a show. Needless to say, I will be driving slower and more cautiously along those rural stretches of Routes 550 and 45!

And hunters, YOU can have JP's car alongside your favorite tree stand this coming buck and doe season. Who needs smelly deer urine and musk scents when you can have a proven deer magnet next to your tree stand? $15/hour and car owner gets 25% of all venison steaks, jerky and other edible products accrued from animals bagged while using car attractant. Contact car owner for details...(j/k)

Yep, that's from Tool's Aenima album. Actually, the CD jewel case is one of those deals that can feign movement if you shift it back and forth and one of the inside photos is the autofellatio guy.

You nailed it. Short attention spans all around.

But seriously, who doesn't know a Jew who has hit a deer while blowing himself? It's just irresponsible motoring.
