Re: Most requested songs that bands get
Wow, with the exception of these songs right here, I've had to play every other song on the list in one situation or another. Keep in mind that I'm a young buck compared to some of the veterans here. I've always wanted to do Low Rider, though.moxham123 wrote:

Edit: I'll add another for you. Being in a modern rock band, and seeing other modern rock cover bands, I've come to the conclusion that My Own Worst Enemy by Lit has become pretty much a standard for this genre of music. Also, Blister in the Sun seems to be a standard too. Luckily, it's about the only Violent Femmes song that I can stand. That dude's vocals make me want to stab my ears with a fork.

When I get my band up and about and I hear someone yell Slayer!!, I'll immediately rip into Angel of Death or War Ensemble. That'll shut 'em up
You're only missing something if you love a band that wrote the book on early thrash metal.mjb wrote:name a slayer song that i might recognize, i've never listened to them and don't know any of their stuff. sorry slayer fans. i've heard of them, but never heard any of their stuff. i don't think anyway!!!am i missing something good?
I guess their more popular songs are;
War Ensemble
Dead Skin Mask
South of Heaven
Mandatory Suicide
Stain of Mind
Dittohead
Hell Awaits
Seasons in the abyss
I know they've had videos for most of those songs, anyway.

Dang, that's an awful list.
Used to get calls for AC/DC and Ozzy but, for the most part, those days are
over....mercifully.
I agree with Paul "Own Worst Enemy" and God-awful "Blister In the Sun"
are almost the new "standards".
We did "Low Rider" for a little while, and it's a cool tune and fun to play.
We just never actually practiced it (Big surprise there. Practice?) so it
never came together in a way we liked, so we nixed it.

The song we get asked to play the most these days has got to be Crazy Bitch by Buckcherry. I swear we could play that song for an hour strait and people would want to hear it again.
...too many requests for this that I actually hate the song now.

Did you ever hear Gary Hoey's instrumental version of Low Rider? It is really cool.VENTGtr wrote:Dang, that's an awful list.
