Yeah....yer right...but after this much time has passed I'm not sure if I'd
rather incur the wrath of Rhoads fans by referencing his fingernails on
the chalkboard tone or what might've happened in those girl pants when
the plane headed for the bus.
The former'd be more of a music-based option, to be sure, but the latter
could spin into a longer, much more tasteless ('Cause apparently raising
the issue isn't tasteless enough?) colloquy.
Hm. Mebbe best just to let others decide, eh?
But hey, ToonaRock, thanks for the encouragement.

"You must be this beautiful to ride the Quagmire."
I loved Randy Rhoads when I was younger. I idolized him. He was my first guitar hero.
I listen to him now and I ask myself how could I have missed the boat on EVH? I think Randy Rhoads guitar tone was borderline brittle and nasal-ly. He had skills no doubt, I guess I just grew away from his playing. I realize the early Ozz albums came from that "honest" era, but Id rather listen to a Led Zeppelin or Rush album any day of the week cuz the production was so much fucking better. Its my opinion I suppose... I thought Jake E Lee never got enuff respect, but it was those stupid synthesizers that ruined those albums. I love synth and piano, but I all I hear there is cheese.
Everyone wants to go to heaven but noone wants to die
Jake E. Lee was underrated and never got out of Randy's shadow unfortunately. He is a great player. Bark at the Moon and The Ultimate Sin are some of Ozzy's best work.
What's this doing on an emo thread? It's cool anyway
Kids whose parents never hit em, never told em they couldnt be anything they wanted...
my dad told me mulitple times I would fail. I got knocked around a few times. I prob deserved some of it I guess. I never had the "I hate myself and want to die" mentality.
Growin up in the 80's just made me want to be with hot chics and drive around in an IROC.

Alright...normally, I would just pass it off as closed-mindedness, but guys..today what y'all consider "emo" is sooooo completely off from what it actually is...granted some of the newer stuff is whiny and really sappy, but if you go back a ways...a lot of it is anything but close to the roots of it...so please if you are intent on bashing...at least do some research and bash the entire "genre" and not just a small part that makes it easy...cuz we all can do that with just about every "type" of music.
