Saturday Night at Aldo's

Post by johnliebal »

First off...i want to thank ronnie again for giving us the opprotunity and the privledge to play at this event...we had a blast. This was one of the most exciting shows i have ever been to, and i am glad i was able to be apart of it. I was even lucky enough to stick around and watch choking faith, as well as half tempted playing with some awesome guest muscians. Seeing rory play with his dad was awesome too! We had a blast and anytime we have another chance like this one...you can be sure we will take it...thanks again to everyone who helped set this up, and for giving us a taste of the altoona bar scene

That was Steve Oswalt. He's a local legend. He was wailing like that 20 years ago, and still has the pipes now!

For those who weren't able to attend the Jeff Wallack Tribute Show on Saturday night, here's a rough video clip I shot from Aldo's upstairs peanut gallery. It features Ron and Steve from Half Tempted, joined by Joe George on bass, Tom Brown (left) and Ron's son, Rory Dalansky (right) on guitars, and Denny Frank singing lead. Keep in mind that Denny hasn't sung on a stage in something like 20 years, and Tom's been holed up in the studio for just about as long...must be that "pencil fear!" (Ha ha ha!)

I recorded all of it on my VHS-C recorder. The only digital recording I did was the clip I linked (I need to buy more memory cards for that camera).

I can dub a copy onto a regular VHS tape for you. (I don't have the equipment to convert the video to digital at this point.)

I would like to thank everyone who came out to the Jeff Wallack benefit show on Saturday night. I had a damn good time. Special thanks to all the people who I stood side by side on stage with, my dad Ron, Doug Tussey, Steve Oswalt, Tom Brown, my uncle Sanford ( Steve McCaulley(not quite sure of spelling)), Joe George, and everyone in Death Upon Arrival, (Mike, John, Mick, and Randy). Sorry if I left anyone out. Thanks to all of you. If you didn't go to this show, you missed out. I must say it, Oswalt you rock man!!! Your voice is godly. Jeff Wallack is proud of each and everyone of you.

Thanks for sharing Jim. I really wanted to attend, but could not. That's a great video. Did Denny Frank sing for Black Diamond (or was it Tyrant) in late 70s? Anybody know?
