Steelers
They cut Joey Porter. Thoughts? I think it will hurt, but they'll get someone else in there.
Steelers are like PSU ... they make linebackers.
Let's be honest ... who the ƒü©k was Joey Porter before the Steelers made him? Nobody.
Don't forget these names:
• Jack Lambert
• Jack Ham
• Andy Russell
• Mike Merriweather
• Levon Kirkland
• Greg Lloyd
• Chad Brown
• Kevin Green
• Earl Holmes
• Jason Gildon
... to name a few ...
Don't worry about losing Porter ... they'll make more.

They don't need Joey,who at best was a 8 and 8 player.
He would be there 8 games and then disappear for 8 games.
He was really great at running his mouth, but then wouldn't show up.
The best season he had was last season (2005),and I'm not talking just stat wise but when we got in the playoffs he just took off and then that was it.
His gift of gab is what made Joey Porter- Joey Porter.
Believe me,down here. He won't be missed.
Now just stand back and watch James Harrison take off.
Plus, the Steelers are switching to the 4-3 next season.
Cheers!

i find it funny that you're all saying "fuck joey porter" now that he's on his way out... but while he was there you all worshipped the ground he pissed on...
fact is... you have a serious hole at Linebacker now... yeah as Rob said, he may have been Nobody before coming to Pittsburgh... but just because you create a beast doesnt mean when he leaves he would be nothing...
would you trade Ray Lewis and bash him just because he's no longer there? No ... you wouldn't, because you know that man would kill you... just like he killed that man in Georgia...
how can you say a player was an 8-8 player at best? by that you have to say Ben Roethlisberger is at best a 6-10 quarterback, or however many games he played this year... people get hurt... intensity in football creates injuries...
stop being such Pittsburgh Steelers fans, and start using your brains

For the record, I never said, "fuck Joey Porter." I disagree with the 8 and 8 Joey theory. I lump him in with the Steeler greats of the past. My point is it's not a big deal because Pittsburgh is a linebacker factory.AtoMikEnRtiA wrote:i find it funny that you're all saying "fuck joey porter" now that he's on his way out...

I read that someone said that someone else said "fuck joey porter" I didn't say it, nor did I not read it. I never said it, nor would I ever say it. Whoever said it, shouldn't have said it, so that being said, I'm gonna miss him.AtoMikEnRtiA wrote:I didn't say that you said that I said that you said "fuck Joey Porter"BadDazeRob wrote:I didn't say that you said that I said "fuck Joey Porter" ... I think the cutting of Porter signals that Tomlin is going to install the 4-3 instead of the 3-4 that the Steelers normally run. Look at their signings and draft coming up, and see if they draft or sign a big space-eating DT to play alongside Casey Hampton.
I'd love to see the Steelers make some moves to trade up in the draft so they could take DT Alan Branch (Michigan). That guy is a friggin' beast, and would give the Steelers one of (if not the most) feared defensive lines in football.

They will go with Okobi to begin with and they probably will draft one late.RobTheDrummer wrote:We're gonna need a center too. And Tomlin is going with the 4-3.
Tomlin might go back and forth this season, but I think they will eventually switch to 4-3 from there on out.
Keeping LeBeau tells me that Tomlin will use the 3-4 this year and then gradually switch.
The 4-3 will suit the Steelers more with 4 down linemen, with Hampton,Smith,Keisel and maybe Hoke or the 1st round draft pick this year (fingers crossed for D-lineman)
Hampton comes out on 3rd down usually unless it's short yardage.
So we need more D-line to spell Hampton and Smith.
We'll see.
Cheers!
