LOWJACK to play record label showcase in Austin for South By Southwest!
Current mood: drunk
Category: Jobs, Work, Careers

LOWJACK IS HITTING THE ROAD!

Thanks to our friends over at Music Gorilla (www.musicgorilla.com) Lowjack has been picked out of thousands of acts to be one of only 21 artists to perform at a showcase for record labels and industry types at none other than the legendary SOUTH BY SOUTHWEST MUSIC FESTIVAL in the one and only Austin, Texas this month! (check it out at www.sxsw.com)

For those of you that don't know, South by Southwest is the world's premiere music festival, and has been featured in MTV's REAL WORLD, Rolling Stone, Spin Magazine and has been the place that has discovered artists like John Mayer, Franz Ferdinand and Bloc Party!

We're really stoked to be amongst so many great acts (big congrats to another PA band-Til December, who will also be performing at the same showcase)!

Below is the info as to where we will be. The band will be in town for the week, so if you are from Austin, want to fly to Austin to say hello or have friends who will be at the conference, send them out to watch us perform at the showcase (it's open to the public).

***AUSTIN, TX SHOWCASE INFO****

Saturday, March 17

4pm showtime

Nuno's Attic (Nuno's On 6th)
422 6th Street (at Neches)
Austin, TX

www.nunosonsixth.com

NOTE:
There will be an industry only guest list and anyone
with a SXSW badge will get in free.
The event IS OPEN TO THE PUBLIC!

This is going to be a wild week, and to raise the necessary funds, we are releasing an early version of the new LOWJACK album for our close friends and fans to purchase (at a cheap rate) to help us raise the money to make the 24 hour drive to the middle of Texas! We'll get you the details in the coming days on picking up the new, early version of the record at our two up and coming shows. To that end—we've posted two tracks from the upcoming album, check 'em out!

This is going to be a wild ride, partner. We'll be sure to take pictures….

Wish us luck-

LOWJACK

That's a cool deal.Austin's a great city to play in.
My old band played a drag bar there in 1994.
Plastered Bastards are playing @ Emo's in June with The Chumps and Dixie Witch.
Have a great time and good luck.
Cheers!

Thanks guys!!! In my drunken and excited state last night I forgot to mention the most important part of the whole post...

ARE THERE ANY BANDS OR PEOPLE ON HERE GOING TO SXSW???

We know that Til December (formerly Backstreet Law) is going and have made contact with a band from Boston that will be travelling through PA on their way to TX. We are trying to get as many people to work together as possible ESPECIALLY as far as equipment goes since nobody knows exactly what kind of back-line we will be provided with...

In other words, Since I am flying with only my guitar and the normal stuff, I would love to find somebody with a Marshall that will be there on Saturday.

Again...

IF THERE ARE ANY PEOPLE OR BANDS ON HERE GOING TO SXSW PLEASE CONTACT US!!!

You can PM, call, MySpace, whatever... just get a hold of us... there is already a nice group of North-East allies forming to attend each others showcases, share equipment, take in gentlemens clubs together, drink too much, etc...

Thanks again guys!!!
