**ATTENTION ORIGINAL BANDS: GET RECOGNIZED!! PLEASE READ**

Post by BURK »

This was passed on to me today as is:

The Centre Daily Times ( www.centredaily.com) State College/ Penn State's Newspaper (circulation approx. 80,000) is currently accepting CDs from Pennsylvania bands for review in their Weekender publication. The Weekender is part of the paper on Fridays and is also available throughout the week in select businesses and free on the street. If you're looking for publicity for your CD and great press quotes for your bio and press kit, this is the place to go. Any genre, any style--signed or unsigned bands are welcome!

Be warned: the Centre Daily Times is a newspaper, and not every CD review is going to be a good one , but the publicity for bands and artists is very valuable!

The only criteria is:

The CD is professionally pressed (no homemade, handmade discs) and available for purchase somewhere (at live shows, stores or online).
The CD must have been recorded in roughly the past year (no CDs from your college days!)

Not every CD will be reviewed, but the most popular and best will usually be printed. From when the newspaper gets your CD, the turnaround time is usually two to four weeks. The Centre Daily Times will not contact you to let you know that your review is/is not going to run, but the reviews will usually also end up on the paper's website.

Send a complete press kit (with contact info!) to the address below, or email the editor, Heather Longley, at hlongley@centredaily.com
