sheetz brought back the x-large coffee $1.49. they had priced all sizes at .99 took it away for a while then brought it back and added a quater to the price. typical sheetz pricing stratagy. i'm all for making some money, but sheetz........ man, they are some greedy bastards. greedy might not be the right word, i mean they're in it to make money, of course i understand that. they have to be making a killing on that coffee to begin with. did they have to jack it up like that. oh well, its a treat for me to get out in the morning anymore, before we had a baby that was my routine in the morning get up , go get a cup of jo and let the day unfold. now its get up, tramp on one of my daughters toys, quietly mutter god dammit under my breathe and try to find the time to make may own pot of coffee and then play play play all day. i wouldn't trade that for anything. life is good!

I like their $1.99 meatball sub...without cheese. Of course, if you want cheese, it is .59 more because Sheetz' cheese is made of fucking gold. And the one in Johnstown I was at was charging for condiments on the .99 Jr. Hamburger, which also had 59 cent cheese slices.

They are called a convenience store, not a discount store. You pay for the convenience of having that store in practical locations. Support the stores that you think charge the prices you think are appropriate.

maybe it's just been the sheetz in Palmyra... and Chambersburg.... and Huntingdon.... and Mount Union..... and Shippensburg.... and Lebanon...

but ever since the elevated the prices... they can't seem to make a sandwich that stays within the confines of the bread...


example: the Palmyra sheetz is just a half mile from my office -- which means in the afternoons... i frequent sheetz (hey, Sheetz is as Central PA as "crick", and dropping the g at the end of words) and my favorite sub is the italian - with pepperoni and xtra cheddar --- lately, i open the glorious wrapper to find meat, cheese, mayo, and italian dressing hanging out with the wrapper because it busted the bun... this happens every time now...

i dont know if it's the sandwich artists... or the bread... or if they went cheaper, or if they're overdoing the meat... i don't know. but to say the least -- sheetz can suck my cock right now...

Well, the price of my Red Alert (Double shot of Espresso with Serious Dark Roast) hasn't gone up (still $2.21) so I am happy.

The thing about Sheetz coffee is that it has ruined my home coffee experience. I can't duplicate same quality of espresso/dark roast at home. Fortunately, they are putting the espresso bar in the Cresson location, which means my weekends will soon be including morning Sheetz runs.

I love the $1.99 price on subz. I can do without cheese.

MTO is subpar to say the least and, as JP pointed out in another thread, the new "lower prices" campaign is a smoke screen. The food I usually order there costs much more than it used to. They've also taken some key buttons off their ordering screens (chili, fire roasted tomato sauce to name a few) and they're using stale bread most of the time(at least at the stores I frequent).

Of course, they have us by the balls. Where else you gonna go at 3 a.m. to get some after-gig sustenance?

Yeah. come to think of it, you're right. I just don't understand why they would use terribly stale bread (although Hummelstown Sheetz doesn't...) the bread used to be so bangin and now it's blah at best... derail the subway? yeah... with your unbeliveably stale bread...

That's pretty cheap for a custom hoagie.

At $3-3.50, their burgers have always been ridiculous. It makes no sense to go to Sheetz for a burger.

Yeah, that's the deal,, Jeff, but again the catch is it's $1.99 as long as your don't want anything "normal" on it. Start adding toppings and, in some cases, the damn things cost more than they used to ...

For the record, I don't really like Subway either. Ever since they stopped cutting the rolls the "old way" (you remember the bread "lid" that held everything inside nice and neat) it's just a goddamn hoagie.

I could have told you that they changed vendors. They did it after that salmonella trouble. Kunzler has been feeling the affect of it every since, as they are no longer the only ones doing all their meat. And what they do do is "Economy" meat, which is a lower grade of what they used to use.

It's like the roast beef they used to use. The old stuff was good, and I don't like roast beef, the new stuff is like chewing on a peace of rubber. Not to mention it also stinks.

if anything has made you sick, Rob, it could be from the economy meat. I noticed that their was a nauseating feeling after I ate as well, which is the reason I haven't had a sheets sub since they switched over - All I get now when I get a sheets sub is a hot dog or hamburger.

As for coffee - I paid $1.49 for a medium today. I let the girl at the register know that I will voicing my opinion to Steve Sheetz when I see him at the "Big" meeting

I usually would get either a chicken or a steak wrap after a gig. I generally keep a running tally of how much I "clear" after a gig, including fuel and after-gig snacks, because I'm just stingy like that. I noticed that my wraps were always under $5 but now they are over $5. I've since switched over to the cold turkey wraps, which I enjoy very much, and still cost me under $5. I wonder if this is a sign of universal inflation in the economy.

I never bought gas at the 17th Street Sheetz until a few weeks ago. I really liked being able to pay cash at the pumps. I generally hate the whole process of stopping for gas, especially in winter, so I liked that a lot.

Hey, it has it's benefits out here. I got gambling, I got Lake Tahoe, I got no 2 am stop on drinking, I got a nice place, but I don't got a damn Sheetz!!!! I'll trade you an hour worth of drinking for one Sheetz store down by my house...get Rendell on the line! Wait no, how about some slots? Haha!
