Cool! Maiden jamming on "Tush" - maybe they're pondering a Southern rock direction for their next album? (j/k)
The clip about Adrian, Dave and Steve talking about their respective instruments was insightful and fun. And the "Phantom" clip brought back memories of seeing DiAnno-era Iron Maiden when they opened for Judas Priest at the Cambria County War Memorial in '81; one of the best concerts I ever saw!

I also feel that Maiden rocks! They would be my fav! I think that Dave and Adrian are great players. Im really not to fond of what Janick's playing has to offer but his stage presence is one of a kind.
When I saw them at Ozzfest, I was amazed with not only Dickenson's voice but also his energy after so many years. The first scream he let out just ripped right through everyone there!
Maiden tribute band!!!! Now that would be a thread worth talking about! I would be down for that project!

Yes, I remember Whitesnake on that bill. After Maiden finished their set (one of the only times I've ever seen an opening band get to do an encore!), the crowd cleared out of the arena for Whitesnake, and my friends and I all moved forward (ahh, the days of general admission!). It was still a few years before anyone really knew or cared about Whitesnake. But we moved up to within 30 feet from the front of the stage for Priest, who were incredible!

That would be a tough tribute to pull off well, but I'd definitely be up for checking it out if another one would come along!
I remember that an Iron Maiden tribute band played in the Altoona area during the 90's at City Limits (back when they were new Sebastiano's), back when the tribute craze was big. If I recall correctly, they were called Powerslave (I have to check my old PA Musician mags and look it up); but the Maiden tribute was actually a side project from an original band from Ohio called Reikerz. They were good, as I recall, doing Bruce-era Maiden.I mentioned a maiden tribute band to Mitch lastnight @ practice!!! That would be FUN, but not worth doing unless its NOTE FOR NOTE on all levels.

There's a very popular all-female tribute act called The Iron Maidens. I've never seen or heard their performance, but everyone I've talked to who has says that they are phenonenal.
BTW, my favorite Maiden tune is The Nomad off of Brave New World.

"He's the electric horseman, you better back off!" - old sKool making a reference to the culturally relevant 1979 film.
intrigued by paul's post, I found this

to find more videos search for "the iron maidens" (in quotes, otherwise you get a bunch of real maiden) Most of the videos have horrible sound quality, this one seems to be decent.
FWIW, I think Phantom Of The Opera is probably my favorite Iron Maiden tune.

Was a great show, The lineup for whitesnake included John Lord and Ian Paice from Deep Purple. Ive been a big Ian fan ever since.moxham123 wrote:JP,
I was at the Judas Priest concert in Johnstown that Iron Maiden opened. Do you remember the 2nd act on that show was the original Whitesnake lineup? All 3 bands were great!
The old Sabs days we would cover alot of Maiden from the first 4 albums with Wallack, Scarfone and Oswald. Scar had Steve's sound and bass lines down note for note.
