from 4-track to PC

Post by xero380 »

Hey I was wondering how to take songs off the smart media disk from my 4 track recorder and get them on windows media player or something to save on my computer.... It is all about converting a .BRO file onto my computer to some other file so I can listen to it?

And where to set your pa board for small venues so that you dont get feedback alot when a singer walks with his mic right up to the monitor or by the drummer and his mics....

Roland has a free download to convert them to .wav files:

If you are not having trouble with feedback except for the mobile vocalist, try a Sabine FBX Solo SM-820 on that mic. When you set it up, just have your vocalist take the mic into the problem areas and it will identify and notch filter the worst 8 frequencies. It can even double as a 48V phantom power supply. They go for less than $100 on eBay:

If you are having global feedback problems, I suggest either a dbx Driverack PA (to eliminate a lot of components) or a Sabine FBX-2020plus...$$$$$$

I recently put some old 4-track stuff on CD. I put an old Aural Exciter in between and it surely brightened things up a bit. If you have one around, I might consider adding it to the chain.
