Let Me Love You One More Time, This Little Light Of Mine or really any Ralph Stanley song. Also any Jimmy Martin song.
Long Tall Mama by Big Bill Broonzy and Driver Blues by Rusty Gun Revival, both are really fun blues harp tunes to stretch out on. I also dug playing lap steel with them last week, as I haven't sat-in with them since August. What a great band.----->JMS

That song just kicks major ass!!
It would be absolutely super if we could learn one of my favoite songs of all time, "Smoke From A Distant Fire" by Sanford - Townsend Band.

right now my favorites are Stinkfist by Tool - people go absolutely apeshit! and a song called Trademark by Eric Johnson.
Its a treat for me when the band does an instrumental number, 'cause I can just sit in the crowd and enjoy their Plushie goodness (its easy to forget how much better the FOH sounds than the monitor mix), and that Eric Johnson tune gives me a chubby!
Past tunes that I loved to play include Mrs. Sullivan by Caroline Spine (great "story" song...gave me chills every time I sang it), and I'm Your Captian/Closer to home by Grand Funk - when I was a drummer.
Has anyone heard a band cover Legend of Wolly Swamp by Charlie Daniels? I'm in love with that song right now, but I'd never convince the band to play it. I could actually see them throwing up in their mouths a little when I suggested we play "Friends in Low Places" at midnight on New Years Eve. (fortunately for me, we did, and people went nuts, but I think that and Sweet Home Alabama are about as country as we'll get)

I have tiny hands, like a Tyrannosaurus. T-Rex may be the lizard king but he could never play the guitar...
