I just found out the news as well. Indeed, a very sad week for the area music scene. And right before Christmas, too.

In the relatively short time I've known Ed (I met him when Infused began playing out), he was a genuinely nice guy. I'll always remember at Dennie Huber's "Crazy Fest," how proud Ed was when his children performed and competed.

My heartfelt thoughts and prayers are with Ed's family, friends and bandmates.

Here are some pictures of Ed. These first two were taken during Infused's show at City Limits on November 4, 2005:

And this one was shot at Peter C's on November 14, 2003:

Lastly, here is some rough video I shot of Ed and Infused back on Feb. 24 of this year at City Limits. This was during Infused's last show before Ed began his cancer treatment; he informed me about his cancer after they completed their set.

Wow, this is a shock. I remember judging a talent show/band contest over at the Y in Roaring Spring, and Infused was there. Ed was a pretty cool guy, and his son was one heck of a drummer too. Condolences to the Longo family. Scream will do a group shot in his honor tonight during our show.

Ed was one of the drummers around i heard that made me get the itch.
I was in ? grade, no kit yet, just a metalhead playing on my pillows.
Ed rents an apartment next to my parents on 11th st. For the next week i was blown away hearing "Real Drums" right next door. Ed would play to 2112 and i would sit outside and listen. For me this was fate and i scraped enough to get my first kit. Ed moved out never knowing he had just inspired someone in music. Our sons hung out for a longtime also, i was a little jealous that my boy didnt want to drum and Eddie did. I got to see the Father and son drums duo at Peter C's not one time but twice.

Strength and courage to the Longo family and to Eddie jr and Stella and Shelly.
Eddie if you read this stop and see Robbie and I for anything, anytime.

On behalf of both the Lies Inc and Grimm crews, our sincerest condolences. The Grimm played a few times with Infused and we always considered them brothers in the original music scene. Our prayers go to Ed's family and friends.

That's horrible news. I never met Ed, but I think I caught a show of him playin at City Limits one night. It's never good to see our fellow musicians pass. My best wishes and prayers are with his family.

Never met Ed but my son hung out and played with Eddie (one time they all set up their instruments and played in the back yard on Maple Ave!)! So glad he inspired his son to play music....
