No, April - I haven't...

And by the way - it surprises me that not one of you musicians has posted anything to this thread (unless, of course, I just missed it) about the whole idea of music as language (i.e. - Close Encounters of the Third Kind)...

It's always interested me, and I want my band to use that UFO melody for a song. It rocks.

Possible Myths:
Anal probing unicorns.
Vice presidents that invent the internet.
Ghosts that give blow jobs (oh I love Ghostbusters).
Alien Chipmunks in my ceiling... (well...actually Squirrels masquerading as chipmunks, but that's another story).
Genesis.
Music Language.

Ohhhhh scarey stuff. Some of it believable in all aspects, some of it doubted. Guess it's who you are or what you do?
*I swear I've seen a ship. It could have been a regular airplane.
*I've been a "ghost hunter" for several years now. Some things I can explain away, and some hauntings have no other reason other than..they just are.
*I never liked that vp. So, fairy tales do exist.
*Unicorns..are they like gremlins? Are they like dinosaurs? I don't know. Really, I could swear I've seen Gremlins before. No, I was sobre thank-you-very-much.
*Genesis is like any story. The Bible is a good thing to follow, but don't take every story to heart or follow it religiously (no pun intended). Our parents gave good advice, but how many of their stories were completely truthful? Catholicism has a mother and a father. A pope and a Bible. The stories within are meant to be a guide and not to be taken as complete (bible) truth. That is my opinion. If I'm wrong, y'all might want to move a few steps away from me, lest the lightning start honing in on me.
*Music as a language. Interesting. Good movie. They used lights too, didn't they? If you think about it, that's what Morse Code is. Short and long dot-taps to relay a message. Also, I'm a sign language interpreter. I work with the deaf a lot. Most will say they don't care for the music (why like what you can't hear?)..but there are a few that love the reverbs of the music. The beat. They tap along and imagine (if completely deaf) what it might be like. Saul was completely deaf, not hearing anything...and he could dance like anything. He taught me how to Salsa.
So.. of course it could be a language.
That's my two and a half cents.
Anal probing unicorns...how did I know that was going to come up? I'm still waiting for someone to tell you to stop being "horny"....

That's cool that you are an interpreter. I'm teaching myself some sign language right now. (working my way through the alphabet) I once played in a band with a guitarist who's an interpreter.

PXP, I'm not really sure on which passage it is. I'm far from a biblical scholar. I'll look it up when I have a little time. Like I said, I think it's somehwere in Jobe.

Let me make a guess on that Guitarist.. his first name wouldn't have happened to have been Jimmi, would it?

I met a man from mars,
he picked upon my guitar,
and played me a travelin song.
and when we got on ship,
he got out something for the trip,
he said its old but it's good.

like any other primative would

Mmmhmm. He's up there with Carlos Santana. One of the few guys that I know can seduce a woman with music. Now don't get all freaky anyone. No affair with him ever happened (I know he's married and she's a great woman..and I never thought of him as the dating type either..he's a good friend of mine and the family) and never will.. but the way that man can play a guitar... ::shivers:: Same thing with Santana. Hottie? Eh, not really. But when he's playing his guitar, he's making love to it. And a man that can do that to his guitar.....::shivers:: I'd love to see what he'd do to a woman.

Okay.. I have a feeling I might geat beat for this one. lol

Yes, Jim is an excellent guitarist and a hell of a nice guy. Though I've never had a sexual attraction to his playing. :P
