Being from Hunt. Co. also, those band names really bring back memories! Thin Ice was a great band, used to hear them at the Pen all the time, and who can forget when they played the local high school, opening up for this one-hit wonder, [his name escapes me now], I thiink it was Jimmy Harnen.... I could be wrong , but I thought they did a better job than he did! And Bashful, one of the best bands in the state! They used to blow the roof off the old Hill Valley Hotel! Yeah, music was alive and well in Hunt. Co. from the 60's thru the 80's. The Center dances were also awesome! I also remember them having Wicked Truth, but the band I remember most was another Altoona band, U.S. Sound Theatre coming down to the Center and just blowing us away! They did alot of Chicago tunes, and with that full brass section that little gym rocked! Does anybody know if they still play anywhere?

US Sound Theater re-united for a one-off benefit show a couple years ago, but they are not playing full-time at all.
