A talent company out of Harrisburg,Pa BTE http://www.blackthornentertainment.com is currently having a bowling4bands in Harrisburg on March 21.Why am I saying this...well any bands willing to travel there get the luxury of a FULL BAR/24 lanes/kidiies bumper guard lane....and good food. Many bands come here to talk/swap gigstalk music/meet new bands and interact w/ their fans. What is kool is that it is on a Sunday from 1:30 -4:30 so you can also bring your whole family..all this for $5 a person.Lemme know if this sounds appealing to anyone/. thnx

Yeah it sounds like its really great, like all of us musicians and bands from Johnstown,Altoona,State Colege Ect are going to bring all of our friends ,travel to Harrisburg then we all pay 5 bucks apiece,we can go to any bowling ally and do the same things there too without playing there too.-Gypsy

I had actually mentioned this event recently when we were all discussing the Rockpage Benefit and ideas for possible future events. Shel Hoachlander and Black Thorn Entertainment have done several of these in the Harrisburg area. Usually from 5 to 10 bands have taken part in the "Bowling with Bands" events they have staged thus far.
The idea is not just a simple random afternoon of bowling; the idea is that bands, musicians and fans can get together and network while having a fun afternoon bowling. Again I put the question out to musicians in this neck of the woods (Altoona/Johnstown/State College) - would you be interested in seeing an event like "Bowling With Bands" happen in this area? If enough bands are interested in taking part, perhaps we can organize it up this way.

Thanx Jim
...Thnx Jim....Im not good at wording sentences to good for people to understand. My whole point is if you want to get out of Altoona and play other places this is a kool place to go and hook up w/bands from other ares.
A benefit is different,I dont want anyone getting angry at my reply, just couldnt see travelling to pay to play when we have gigs lined up in Harrisburg.Every musician should do benefits for different causes.
Charging musicians to play should not be an option unless it is a donation for a good cause.
The networking end sounds good& if the pay is for that then its worth it. and a local area one for bands networking is a great idea as long as no musician has to pay to play
