The Verge......

Post by lonewolf »

I just wanted to announce that The Verge is a new classic/modern rock band in central PA. We are comprised of:

- Steve Brulia on drums & vocals

- Matt Burns on bass & vocals

and yours truly,

- Jeff Renner on guitar & vocals

http://www.rockpage.net/bands/bands.php?band=theverge

We are doing mostly rock covers from the 60s thru today and will broaden things a bit as time permits.

A(c/dc) to Z(ztop) with a little red hot chili pepper sauce thrown in. Lots of guitar solos and good time rock & roll.

This band should smoke!

Good to see Steve jamming out again. Has he talked you into covering any Pigmy Love Circus songs? We always used to crank up "Drug Run to Fontana" on the way to gigs.

I will have to ask him about the love circus. We may have to go more mainstream with "Dagwood Killed Blondie" or "Brutish Lout".

Sounds like an excellent lineup.

You're doing some Montrose, right? It's not a true Jeff Renner project unless you're rockin' a Montrose cover.

We are the object of the preposition.

Hopefully early in 2007. We are ready to go right now.

Everybody, thanks for the good words!

and Paul, maybe Bad Motorscooter.

We are the object of the preposition.

...For the Verge?
...By the Verge?
...Of the Verge?
...Under the Verge?
...On the Verge?
...Against the Verge?...

It is great to see such an open discussion on grammar when it comes to band names. Keep up the good work, and Rockpage will be known as the paramount of grammar on the Internet.

Normally I would say that you are welcome, but in this case, it is I whom should be welcome.
If plain and proper English is what you seek, I am the purveyor of such. You're welcome.

Now, seeing the grammar from a personal perspective of rhetoric is one that should be dealt with in pure virtue of all english language. It is "nice" to see the way of the english language come to life. Like once said: "What the hell do you mean I have to push one to speak english".

as for the post at hand, the line up sounds really cool. I will deff have to check you guys out. I been wanting to go see "British Invasion" for months, but the damn studying keeps getting in the way. I will see you guys some time here .. It would also be cool to see Matt again, I haven't seen him since the "SuperFrank" days .. He knows what I am talking about ..

This is great news Jeff. Is there any ufo in the works? Also, is Steve Brulia the same guy who played in Piranha (with John McKelvey) many years ago?

That was Steve's brother Phil, who played bass. Steve plays drums.

BTW Piranha was a great band. Barry Jacobs played drums for them.

Thanks Hawk for clearing that up. Piranha was a indeed a great band. I'm anxious to hear the Verge also... not many power trios around these days.

I would like to do "On With The Action", but that would be on the back burner for now. I think that if UFO re-released it, that they could have a modern rock hit on their hands because of its inner-city flavor and almost rap-like vocals.

Like Bill said, Steve's the drummer in the Brulia family and Phil was bass for Piranha.

My vote for a Montrose song: "Rock Candy." Saw it on a porno, really chick-friendly dance groove.
My advice to Wolf: Refer to Pygmy Love Circus as, "Alien Sex Fiend." He loves that.
Great lineup, guys. I'll be out to see it!------->JMS
