Unit 509 Brad Zinn loses everything in house fire

Post by kara »

Friday night around 12:30 Brad Zinn and his family lost everything when the house they were living in caught on fire. Everyone did get out ok but it is sad to say the house and everything in it was a total loss, including all of Unit 509's band equipment. They have lost everything and now need help trying to rebuild and move on with thier lives. They however will still be playing at the Shade Mt. Inn on the 28th of this month. They will be using borrowed equipment from alot of friends that have pulled together to help in this horrible tragedy. We are going to be raising money for the Zinn family at the gig and would like it if everyone would come out to show thier support for them and for the band. All money made off of the gig will go to them and anything extra. The band has overcome some terrible things this by far the worst but they are still determined to continue doing what they all love to do the most. I hope to see everyone out there to show support for Zinn and Unit 509.

That's horrible news. I personally don't know anyone in the band, but my well wishes go out to the Zinn family.

this is where aforementioned paypal account for rockpage could be used in a generous, respectable way..

im sure if ron, jp and everybody involved would say "all donations for current time will go to help Unit 509" it would receive a good response.. in fact, if said "donate here button" were to be placed, and used for not only the continuation of rockpage, but it's members, bands, and causes (iceman from the opposition is another example i would use) it would be greatly welcomed..

again, just my .02

Tragedies like this are never good. Happened to me many years ago.
I wish you the best, and keep your chin up it will get better with time. I was fortunate to have friends and family help me out. Good luck to you!
Our prayers are with you and your family.

I can't do that very easily because of bank accounts and such. The people affected would have to create an account, create the button at paypal (because they are encrypted) and send it to me for that scenario to work. It is possible though.

Best wishes to the Zinn family.

Hey !

While I too pray for Zinn and his family, I also try to think of this in a real world scenario...

First... Does anyone know if Zinn had any insurance on his house?

2nd.... If not, maybe we could do something logical like post an active list of stuff Zinn may be in need of like:

1. Dishes
2. Couch
3. Bed
4. TV

Well, you get the drift... while many of us cant afford to contribute money, alot of us do have extra household items or know someone who does.

If anyone would like to pitch their brains into this as well as their prayers, then maybe we could thinktank some suggestions and apply some help...

Anyone with contact infor for Zinn could PM me so that I could see what he needs etc.

Thanks guys for all of the support for the Zinn family! They are doing ok. They do have great insurance on the house and it looks like things are going to work out for them it is going to take alot of time though. They are going to need more household items than anything else but at this time they have nowhere to put anything. They are staying with family and for those of you that know them you know that is alot of people in one house. I really admire the way that they have handled everything. Zinn is joking about it now and Patty says the next house she gets she does not want to have to scrape the paint off of the woodwork. So I think they are going to be ok. It is a huge loss for the family and I admire the fact they are not going to let this stop the band either. That was one of the topics the day after the fire from Zinn was that we are going to continue with the band and a friend was nice enough to offer a place to practice. They are some of my best friends and the best people I have ever known. Thanks everyone for your support hope to see ya guys at the Shade

Kara,

If Bob needs any gear (Guitar Stuff) let me know, I have an entire back-up rig that I only use for practice right now, its all quality stuff that I've used on stage for years before I put my new set-up together. I still travel through L-Town a lot and could drop some stuff off... Rich C knows my cell number, Let me know if I can help with anything...

This is Zinn! Finally got to a puter. We are doing well. Thanx for all the help and prayers. It is a waiting game right now. Have to wait for the insurance company. It amazes me how many friends you have when something like this happens. The only thing i ask is if you see a donation jar at a store for victims of fire (not us) please give. And also a huge thak you to the Red Cross for the help they gave. Especially Jim Heeder. And a special thanx to my youngest daughter, Shelly, who saved all of our lives by wakeing up in time to get us out! The smoke alarms were going off, but were not heard. Have to figure out something louder for the next time. Well gotta go for now. Again Thanx a million!
